Lesson of the Day: Embrace Challenges🐝

Today was fantastic! I started with a TypeScript class, where I struggled to find a taxi but made it on time. We had a presentation on the material we covered over the past two weeks, followed by a fun hackathon challenge in groups.

In Group 3, we worked on building a simple supermarket system that allows users to add items to a cart and check out with a total price. We managed to get around 40% done, and there's homework for the next session to finish it up.

On top of that, I spent about 6 hours trying to cook something amazing! Overall, it was a productive day filled with learning and joy.

Thank You for being HereπŸ’ͺ

Life Lesson: Collaboration and Attention to Detail are Key to SuccessπŸ₯³

Hello everyone! Today was such a great day! I spent nearly 7 hours working on my Hackathon tasks for the PLP Africa event, where we're building a website that showcases creativity, and ingenuity.

It's crucial not only to focus on the design but also to ensure proper documentation and maintain a solid commit history on GitHub. During my work, I reached out to some close friends for feedback to enhance my project.

Overall, it was a very productive and fulfilling day, and I’m excited about the progress I made!

Lesson of the Day: Focus on Real Understanding Over Recognition 🌱

Hey everyone! Today was such a great day! I spent time working on my portfolio website for my project, seeking constructive feedback from close friends and fellow developers, especially those experienced in UI/UX design.

Yesterday, I presented my Simple shopping cart system, which was a fantastic experience that deepened my understanding of TypeScript. Our instructor, Natty, shared a valuable lesson: true change comes from genuine understanding and skill, not just the desire to be recognized.

Today, I almost finished the documentation for my project and worked on enhancing the UI. I’m dedicated to winning this hackathon, and I would really appreciate your wishes and prayers for me to succeed, especially since I’m not feeling my best with a flu.

We’ll hear the results from the PLP team on August 8th, so fingers crossed!

πŸ™ Thank you all for your support! Please wish and pray for me to win this challenge! Let’s keep pushing for greatness together!

Lesson of the Day: It's Okay to Take a Break and Prioritize Health🀝

Hello everyone! I haven’t posted in the last couple of days because I was hit hard by the flu. It was challenging to maintain my energy, and I struggled with headaches and fatigue, which made it tough to work on my tasks.

I want to take a moment to thank this amazing community and my close friends who reached out to check on me. Your support means so much!

During these three days, I fell behind on many tasks, including my PLP assignments and others. Thankfully, I’m feeling better now.... my voice is still recovering, but the headaches have eased. I can finally start working on some of my simple and easier tasks.

I also took some time to learn valuable lessons from the YouTube channel "Switch Youth," which offers insights on living life as a young person and applying those lessons in real life.

I apologize for not keeping you updated on my progress and health.
Thank you all for your understanding and support!😊

Lesson of the Day: Progress Matters More Than RecognitionπŸ”₯

Hey everyone! How are you? I'm doing well today! I'm starting to recover from the flu, which hit me pretty hard. Let me tell you about my day!

This morning, I finally had enough energy to attend the gara boot camp, and it was amazing! I showcased my Christian project, which is a mobile app still in progress. I shared it with my mentor and received some valuable feedback and suggestions for improvement. It felt great to get insights that can help me enhance my project!

Afterward, I spent some quality time with friends, which lifted my spirits. Once I got home, I took some much-needed rest and watched some great training materials. It was a refreshing way to recharge.

Later, I joined the PLP session for the hackathon results. I had been working on my portfolio website Last week . While I was excited to see the top websites presented, I felt a bit disappointed when my name wasn’t on the list. However, I reminded myself that my work is still valuable. I’m proud of the progress, effort, and genuine diligence I put into it.

Interestingly, many of the top websites were quite simple, which made me realize that a user-friendly, straightforward portfolio is what really matters.

Now, I’m eager to hear your thoughts! I would love your feedback on my portfolio site: https://yoni-berihun.netlify.app Your insights would mean a lot to me as I continue to improve and grow.

Overall, today was a good experience, and I’m grateful for the support from all of you!πŸ€—

Lesson of the Day: Make the Most of Every Moment and ResourceπŸ₯·πŸ»

Hello everyone! Today was such a great day for me. I started my day around 10 AM. After taking some rest and delaying my sleep, I was able to tackle a bunch of tasks that had piled up since I hadn’t been working due to the flu this week.

I finished my Power Learn project assignments in Python... databases and some HTML, and I even started re-building my tech project. On top of that, I almost completed Module 1 and Week 1 of my Aspire Leaders program, which is an incredible leadership experience.

Today, I took the opportunity to complete the Big 5 personality test through Aspire. It helped me discover some of my personality traits, which was enlightening.

One important takeaway I want to share is that we should always work when we have the time, potential, and abilities God has given us. Life is unpredictable, and we can’t take our energy, resources, or opportunities for granted. We need to use them to the fullest while we can.

In the coming days, I’ll share more about time management and how to make the most of it.

Thanks for being part of my journey!πŸ₯³

Lesson of the Day: Productivity is Key to Achieving Our Goals 🐝

Hey everyone! Today was such a great day! after i returned home from church, i spent the entire day mentoring participants at a virtual hackathon hosted by @Telsem_Youth. It was an amazing opportunity to contribute to the community and connect with aspiring tech enthusiasts from the comfort of home.

I’d like to share some productivity tips I learned from a Udemy course I’m currently enrolled in:

Use Your Time Wisely: Warren Buffet once said, "The best investment you can make is in yourself." Utilizing our time effectively can make a significant difference in our productivity.

Set Alarms for Everything: We often set alarms to wake up, but we should also set alarms for going to bed. Sleep is crucial for our productivity, mood, and overall well-being. If we don’t rest, our minds can’t perform at their best.

Stay Hydrated: One surprising tip I learned is that drinking water can enhance productivity. Staying hydrated helps keep our minds sharp and focused.

Lastly, I’m currently working on fixing a bug in my Christian mobile application project. I’m hopeful I’ll solve it soon!

Thank you for being here and for your support!πŸ₯³

Lesson of the Day: Embrace Learning from Every Experience🐣

Hey everyone! Today was a great day! I tackled a bunch of tasks that had been stuck on my to-do list. I woke up a bit late, around 10 AM, because I stayed up working until 3 AM. It was a challenge, but I made significant progress on my tasks.

I focused on collecting real data from friends for my project because I wanted to avoid using mock data. It’s important to me to use authentic information whenever possible.

I also took an insightful course on Udemy by Dr. Angelina, who was a fantastic lecturer. My project is a class assignment where I’m developing a simple app called β€œI Am Rich.” This app is inspired by a famous story where someone published it on the App Store for $999. When purchased, it simply displays a message saying "I Am Rich," at the top and shows diamond ....and it garnered attention for its outrageous price tag. Interestingly, only a handful of people actually bought it!

Now, I'm working on my project assignments and really enjoying the process.

Fun Fact:
Did you know that the "I Am Rich" app was banned πŸ˜‚ from the App Store after just a few purchases? It serves as a reminder that sometimes, simplicity can be surprisingly effective!

Thanks for following my journey!πŸ™

Lesson of the Day: Building Strong Foundations for SuccessπŸ’

Hello everyone! Today was an incredible day! I dedicated around five to six hours to practicing Flutter, diving deep into the foundational concepts that are crucial for any developer.

As I worked through the basics, I focused on essential widgets and properties like containers, safe areas, main axis alignment, cross axis alignment, rows, columns, and sized boxes. These elements are the building blocks of Flutter, and mastering them is non-negotiable for anyone venturing into app development.

I encountered some challenges, especially when differentiating between row and column properties. It was an insightful experience that reminded me......and hopefully all of you.....that everyone, including myself, must start from the ground up. When we aim to create advanced and robust applications, having a solid understanding of the basics is vital.

Reflecting on my day, I also thought about time management. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that hard work is often the accumulation of small tasks we didn’t complete on time. It’s essential to prioritize important activities first.

Think of it like building a skyscraperπŸ™: if the foundation isn’t strong, constructing higher floors becomes not only challenging but also risky. This analogy applies to our lives as well. Neglecting the small tasks can have a meaningful impact on our overall successπŸ†.

Thank you for being part of this journey! Your support means the world😊 to me, and I’m excited to share more lessons as we grow🌱 together.

Lesson of the Day: Nothing Easy Is Worth Doing🐜

Hey everyone! These past two days have been incredible! I dedicated myself to pushing through a bunch of tasks and diving deep into a Udemy course on the Flutter framework.

Today, I spent over eight hours coding, focusing on building two applications: a Dice Roller app and a Magic 8 Ball app. It was such an exciting experience to see my ideas come to life and explore how functional programming can be.

Yesterday, I took some time to reflect and challenge myself. I wrote code from memory using just a pen and paper and pc(to test) , which was both fun and insightful. This exercise helped me pinpoint my strengths and weaknesses, and I sketched out concepts to clear up any confusion.

I also received a certificate of appreciation from Telsem Youth , along with a gift of a one-year free .xyz domain, for being a mentor at their recently hosted hackathon. It’s fulfilling to know that my contributions have made a positive impact!

The challenges we face often lead to the most rewarding experiences. Embracing the hard work pays off in ways we can't always predict.

Thank you to all you for your amazing support! I encourage you to react and share your thoughts. Together, let’s continue this journey of growth!πŸ”₯

Lesson of the Day: Writing Enhances Understanding and Retention ✍

Hello everyone! Today was such a great day! I accomplished about 70% of my to-do list, which feels fantastic. I integrated my tasks with Google Calendar and Gemini to help keep me accountable...definitely a game changer! i want to thank @tech_world_o1 for this tipπŸ˜…

Yesterday was productive too. I spent nearly two hours debugging my new project with my mentor, which was quite the challenge! I managed to finish some functionalities and fix several bugs. This week, I plan to insert real data that I collected from my friends, so I’m on track to finish everything by week’s end.

Today, I focused on Flutter widgets and took extensive notes in my notebook. Writing is an essential part of my learning process; it not only reinforces my understanding but also helps me retain important concepts. Watching videos or reading books can be useful, but without writing things down, it’s easy to forget key ideas.

I’m excited to share that I completed my simple app! Unlike my earlier β€œI Am Rich” app, which just displayed an image, this new app, called β€œAsk Me Anything,” is functional. It helps users make decisions by randomly generating options using the Dart random package.

Thank you all for your support! It’s inspiring to see how we uplift each other on this journey. Let’s keep pushing forward and embracing the growth together!

Lesson of the Day: Diligence is Key to Consistent Growth🌴

Hello everyone! Today was such a great day! I tackled a bunch of tasks that had been lingering for the past few days. With a busy schedule, I'm using all my spare time to finish my projects, including my Christian project, which is going well.

Yesterday, I was approached by a startup to build a Telegram bot portal to streamline their business and handle payment verification. I'm exploring many features of Telegram bots, reinforcing my understanding through hands-on experience.

Today, I made a concerted effort to stay productive while diving into Flutter development.

Here's a lesson I discovered: Diligence isn't about grinding yourself into the ground; it's about showing up consistently for the things that matter. You build a life you’re proud of, one small brick at a time.

Many of us associate diligence with endless hours of study or practice, often leading to burnout. However, true diligence involves breaking tasks down into manageable pieces and tackling them one step at a time. For example, studying for 45 minutes today is far more effective than a panicked five-hour cram session the night before.

Consistency always trumps intensity. It's easy to get motivated and go all out for a week, only to burn out and fall into a cycle of feeling like a failure. Instead, let’s focus on small, consistent actions.

I'm excited to be working on these interesting projects, so stay tuned to my channel! Your support means a lot to me, and I’d love to see your reactions to this post. Thank you for being part of this amazing journey!

Lesson of the Day: Knowledge and Connections Are Invaluable✨

I recently had the incredible opportunity to participate in an exclusive 2day Rust Developer Training hosted by Waga Academy and powered by Stellar.

This workshop was designed for Web2 and Web3 developers, and it truly delivered! I learned Rust from a real expert and gained valuable insights into the language.

One of the highlights was getting the chance to present my project. Development is all about solving the problems we encounter daily, and I shared how I tried to address issues my community has experienced.

What made this experience even more enriching was meeting new friends from diverse backgrounds and with different dreams. It was amazing to connect with fellow developers and share insights and aspirations.

I walked away not just with new knowledge, but also with valuable connections that I believe will last a lifetime. I’m excited to apply what I learned and see where it takes me!
Thank you all for your support! Let’s keep pushing 😊
