Long: $BERA
To hedge against my longstanding bear view on the overall markets, I have built a liquid position in $BERA. I look at Berachain as the most defensive home for CT natives and yield-seekers in an environment where liquidity and volumes have begun their cyclical declines. The thesis for $BERA can be summed up as:

1. Superior sustainable yield loop that requires $BERA to participate in (similar to AVAX Rush)
- POL introduction (https://x.com/berachain/status/1902854165883167167) on 24th March should start making BGT farming more attractive, and reminds me a lot of Avax Rush back in July 2021. POL is both a demand driver and supply sink for BERA which creates a potential flywheel effect.
- The timeframes within each cycle are eerily similar - following a period of apathy (May-Jul 2021), Avalanche Rush launched and kickstarted a resurgence of on-chain activity. If this pullback on majors and US equities is indeed a bear trap I expect the market to recognize the potential for BERA flywheel.

2. Extremely light positioning across both retail and institutional funds.
- As one of the three 'new' coins to be launched this year (IP / KAITO / BERA), $BERA has seen the least interest despite have the most things to do on-chain (albeit mostly farming for now).
- I have seen minimal interest in $BERA due to the general market decline. Majority of peers I've spoken to generally just said they had no view on BERA, but noted it as a place to yield farm.
- Coupled with the pretty abysmal spot volumes and generally low float ($600m mkt cap), I think the potential for a violent re-rating up is underestimated by the market.

3. New Coin Fractal
- $BERA launched as one of the most hyped new L1s in 2025, but quickly faded from view and settled at valuations that disappointed farmers + early investors.
- An added benefit of BERA is it's one of the better venues for yield on-chain currently. In a market regime like this where players aren't getting rewarded by betting directionally on tokens across the board that creates a BERA supply sink.
- New coin also means minimal inflation and unlocks for the next 12 months and plenty of time for our thesis to work.

To be clear, this is a liquid position that I will be actively managing. But for now I think there's a significant under-pricing presented in the market with potential for a violent gap-close in the upcoming weeks.
