After some thought, I've decided to cancel the contest. There have been too many cases of manipulation that are difficult to track, and it wouldn't be fair to distribute the entire prize pool now, especially considering the honest participants.

For those who followed the rules faithfully, we'll be giving out a YNG as a token of appreciation for your time and effort, and we'll carry the prize pool over to another contest. This way, it will be fair for everyone.

Mid-summer. The most brutal and scorching time of the year. The asphalt is about to boil, unbearable heat radiates from the ground, and stepping out under the open sky feels like pure suicide. All the locals have hidden away, afraid to show their faces—some from the comfort of climate-controlled apartments, others beneath roughly built shelters, hoping the handmade electric fan doesn’t overheat. Every living soul prays for a single drop of rain. But alas, the sky is clear, not even a single shabby cloud to block the sun for a moment.

Suddenly, as if by an invisible hand, the sun vanishes behind heavy rain clouds. Thousands of eyes are now fixed on the stormy sky, where lightning starts to flicker. Then, several bolts strike the ground simultaneously somewhere in the middle of the Trash Sea, and as quickly as the storm began, it starts to dissipate. Most witnesses shrug and return to their routines. But some are more intrigued than others. On the outskirts of the City, dozens of figures throw on spiked jackets, adjust their bandanas and protective goggles, and mount their motorcycles, racing towards the former storm's epicenter. At the same time, in the central district, barriers open with a loud crash, and a convoy of armored trucks bearing corporate logos rolls out from one of the megascrapers. Drones buzz above them, blaring warnings to anyone in their path that the convoy won’t be stopping for anything.

"Eat or be eaten" is the most famous saying in this world, and our heroes, who have only just set foot here, will have to learn this rule quickly—or face a grim fate.

Середина лета. Самое жестокое и знойное время. Асфальт вот-вот закипит, от земли идёт нестерпимый жар, и выйти под открытое небо в такой момент кажется чистым самоубийством. Все местные людишки сейчас попрятались и боятся высунуть нос, кто из прекрасных апартаментов с системой климат-контроля, а кто из-под грубо сколоченных навесов, надеясь, что собранный вручную электрический вентилятор внезапно не перегреется. Каждая живая душа молится, чтобы на землю пролилась хоть капля дождя. Увы, небо ясное и нет ни единого, самого захудалого облачка, что могло бы ненадолго заслонить собой солнце.

Но вдруг, словно по мановению невидимой руки, солнце скрывается за тяжёлыми дождевыми облаками. Взгляд тысяч сейчас прикован к штормовым тучам, среди которых уже начинают вспыхивать молнии. Затем, несколько разрядов одновременно бьют в землю где-то посреди Мусорного Моря, а едва начавшаяся буря, словно выпустив всю ярость, понемногу начинает рассевается. На окраине Города, несколько десятков фигур, накидывая шипастые куртки, поправляя банданы и защитные очки, седлают мотоциклы, устремляясь к бывшему эпицентру шторма. Вместе с тем, в центральном районе с грохотом расходятся заслонки и из недр одного из мегаскрёбов выезжает колонна бронированных фургонов с нанесённым на борта фирменным знаком. Над машинами жужжат дроны, громкими сигналами оповещая любого зазевавшегося, что корпоративный конвой не собирается тормозить ни при каких обстоятельствах.

«Ешь или будешь съеден» гласит самая известная поговорка этого мира, и нашим героям, едва успевшим вступить на его землю, придётся быстро выучить это правило, или же их ждёт незавидная участь.

The fading thunderclaps, the howling wind, and the creaking of metal are the first sounds that reach the ears of our heroes. Groaning, they get up from the ground, blinking and looking around at the strange place they’ve suddenly found themselves in. Everywhere they look, mountains of rusting junk and rotting garbage rise around them.

'What have you done?!' – a loud shout echoes through the rusty maze. Turning towards the cry, the kids see a figure in rags, covering its entire body. The fabric on the stranger's head sticks out strangely, rising upwards, as if hiding... something underneath.

'So much time preparing, valuable resources — all for nothing! I couldn’t save him!' – glancing around, our heroes notice strange devices cobbled together from whatever seems to have been at hand. The figure continues to rage: 'I almost pulled out the damned sphere! Where did you come from? Where’s the stone?!'

Meanwhile, above the shouting, a new sound emerges — the growl of engines in the distance, but the figure seems not to hear it.

Затихающие громовые раскаты, завывание ветра и скрип металла — первые звуки, достигающие ушей наших героев. Со стонами они поднимаются с земли, промаргиваясь, осматривают странное место, в котором так неожиданно оказались. Повсюду, куда ни кинь взгляд, возвышаются горы ржавеющего хлама и гниющего мусора.

— Что вы натворили?! — громкий крик эхом проносится сквозь ржавый лабиринт. Обернувшись на вопль, ребята видят фигуру в рванье, закрывающем всё тело. Ткань на голове незнакомца странно топорщится, поднимаясь вверх, словно скрывая под собой... нечто.

— Столько времени на подготовку, ценнейшие ресурсы — всё впустую! Я не смог его спасти! — оглядываясь вокруг, наши герои действительно замечают странные устройства, собранные, кажется, из всего, что попалось под руку. Фигура же продолжает неистовствовать: — Я почти вытянул чёртову сферу! Откуда вы тут взялись? Куда вы дели камень?

Между тем, за криками появляется новый звук — рык двигателей в отдалении, но фигура их, словно, не слышит.

An enraged man barely thinks about the consequences, but only the most reckless would keep snapping back when a few strong hands grab them and they’re surrounded by a group of hostile young people. The stranger clearly didn’t consider himself reckless, because as soon as the first question was asked, his tongue loosened on its own:
'Forgive me! I didn’t mean to insult you, I just let my emotions get the better of me! Allow me to introduce myself,' – with trembling hands, the man lifts his rags, revealing a haggard, wrinkled face – 'My name is William. William Gibbenson, to be precise. I’m a scientist, a physicist from Kinetetsuo’s development department. I was trying to save my friend and escape, but something went wrong. The device I built was supposed to transfer a powerful energy source here, but instead, you showed up. The calculations were perfect, and I’d give an arm to find out what went wrong, but now…'
Sighing heavily, the old man lets out a bitter chuckle: 'Now it doesn’t matter. Kinetetsuo’s hounds are already close, but I’d bet the scum from the Rust Sea Sharks will reach us first!'
As if to confirm his words, the rumble that had been distant now echoes just around the corner – the roar of bikes, the clink of chains, loud laughter, and shouts full of anticipation. Whoever is coming, there are only minutes left before they arrive, and if our heroes want the upper hand, they need to act fast.

Разъярённый человек едва ли думает о последствиях, но лишь самые отчаянные будут продолжать огрызаться, когда их хватает несколько пар крепких рук, а вокруг стоит недружелюбно настроенная группа молодых людей. Незнакомец же отчаянным себя явно не считал, потому стоило задать первый вопрос, как язык его развязался сам собой: «Простите! Я не думал вас оскорбить, лишь поддался эмоциям! Позвольте представиться, - трясущимися руками человек приподнимает тряпьё, открывая измождённое, покрытое морщинами лицо, - Моё имя Уильям. Уильям Гиббенсон, если быть точным. Я учёный, физик из отдела разработок Кинтетсуо. Я старался спасти своего друга и сбежать отсюда, но что-то пошло не так. Построенная мной установка должна была перенести сюда мощный источник энергии, но вместо него появились вы. Расчёт был идеальным, и я бы руку отдал, лишь бы узнать, в чем дело, но теперь…» Тяжело вздохнув, старик невесело усмехается: «Теперь это не важно. Ищейки Кинтетсуо уже близко, но ручаюсь, ещё раньше до нас доберутся эти подонки из Акул Ржавого Моря!»
Словно в подтверждение его слов гул, что прежде звучал на отдалении, теперь доносится буквально из-за поворота – рев байков, звон цепей, громкий хохот и крики, полные предвкушения. Кто бы ни направлялся сюда, до их прибытия остаются считанные минуты, и если наши герои хотят, чтобы инициатива была на их стороне, действовать нужно быстро.

"Guys," – hearing the approaching rumble of bikes, one of the guys raises his hand to get the group’s attention – "I suplexed a dragon with my bare hands! After that, a bunch of punks on motorcycles is a piece of cake. I saw you all hit up the market – grab whatever you bought; let’s hit ‘em with some battle magic against their high-tech!"
The pumped-up crew gathers together, pulling out whatever they’d managed to snag from pockets and backpacks. Alongside random trinkets, the ground soon holds a silk cloak shimmering in blue and black, a pouch of glowing beans, and a golden ring with an emerald hummingbird figurine.
Seeing the “treasures,” the guy lets out a wry whistle. "Well... not much to work with. Alright, grab anything big or long, and form a circle. Old man in the center – he’s the only one who knows what’s going on here."
With shaky hands, Gibbenson pulls his hood down further and shuffles to the center of the group. Just then, a dozen bikers come roaring around the corner. Their bikes – metal monstrosities pieced together from anything they could find – look terrifying yet somehow impressive. But one glance at the riders is enough to forget about their rides. Gaudy shirts in loud colors under spiked leather jackets, hands gripping bats and chains in fingerless gloves, sharpened teeth, tin-can shades, and towering neon mohawks – yeah, these guys really do look like deep-sea predators who’ve smelled blood and are closing in on their prey.
The distance between the groups is shrinking fast. Time to give the punks a fight.

«Народ» - слыша приближающийся рокот байков, один из парней понимает руку, привлекая внимание группы, - «я своими руками сделал дракону суплекс! После такого, кучка панков на мотоциклах – это же плюнуть и растереть. Я видел, вы закупались на рынке – доставайте, кто что купил, вдарим боевой магией по хайтеку!»
Приободренные ребята собираются вместе, вытаскивают из карманов и рюкзаков кто, что успел набрать. Помимо безделушек, на земле оказываются: шелковая мантия, переливающаяся синим и черным, мешочек светящихся бобов и золотое колечко с фигуркой изумрудной колибри. Увидев «богатства», парень невесело присвистывает: «М-да… Негусто! Ладно, хватайте, что потяжелее и длиннее и в круг. Деда в центр – он единственный знает, что тут творится».
Трясущимися руками натягивая поглубже капюшон, Гиббенсон семенит в центр группы, и в тот же момент из-за поворота вырывается дюжина мотоциклистов. Их байки – металлические кадавры, собранные из всего, что под руку попало - выглядят ужасающе и в то же время крайне внушительно. Но одного взгляда на седоков достаточно, чтобы забыть об их скакунах. Аляповатые футболки кричащих цветов и натянутые поверх шипастые кожанки, ладони в перчатках с обрезанными пальцами сжимают биты и цепи. Подточенные зубы, черные очки-консервы и высоченные ирокезы неоновых оттенков – да, эти ребята действительно напоминают глубоководных хищников, почуявших кровь и несущихся прямо на жертву.
Расстояние между группами стремительно сокращается. Пора дать панкам бой.
