Has anybody here ever sent money to CBE Birr to a number that actually doesn't have CBE Birr account?
A quick heads-up from something that happened to me recently.
I accidentally sent money to a number that doesnβt even have a CBE Birr account. Sounds harmless, right? Youβd think the money just bounces back or something. Nope. π
I went to the bank thinking itβd be a quick fix but it turned out, most workers donβt even know how to handle it. Some didnβt want to check, others just told me to βwrite a letter to the center in Addis.β Even though the call center (951) told me the money can be withdrawn with a passcode, and that branch workers could help, no one actually helped.
So yeah⦠moral of the story?
Double-check the number before sending
Donβt assume itβs easy to reverse if something goes wrong
CBEβs system lets you send to numbers with no accountβ¦ and fixing that mistake is a headache
Stay sharp out there βοΈ

Today the Better Auth team in Addis Ababa met up and had a wonderful meet and greet session.
Was a really fun, nerdy and interesting time. Talked about a bunch of tech, experiences, personal stuff and ofcourse about Better Auth and it's Infra... and just so much more.
It is a very cracked team, and I'm honestly there to learn and so are they, which's the best place to be.
God bless us and wish us all luck. The excitement keeps on growing and bunch of epic ideas are coming up.π
