First off, I want to thank you for being a part of this channel. I created this channel about a year ago, and since then, it’s been a personal space for me to document my journey. But now, I’ve decided to make some changes!

First Post Here

A couple of months ago me my friend talked about joining A2SV and solved some problems on leetcode. When the announcements were out we had just few problems solved (12 for me) so that week I tried hard to solve around 46 problems in total and applied as soon as possible. Obviously we didn't even get to the enterview process. I guess that week made me burn out and not come back to leetcode for about 2 months. (I know this can't be an excuse tho)

Fast forward to January, They accepted students who passed the interview. I knew that A2SV accepts students on November and February so I started again to solve leetcode problems to apply for the February's cohort. I solved about 55 more problems during the semester break and I noticed that nothing is being said about the February's cohort and I reached out to one of the heads of education at A2SV in our campus and found out that there might not be February convert for this year (sad story 😢)

It might actually be good for me since I can take more time on my projects (I'm a GC 🎓 this year btw) but I noticed that I loved solving problems on platforms like leetcode. So I'm going to be continuing to solve problems from now on. I guess a 1 or 2 two problems a day is enough. The question is what type of problems should I solve ?

What To Focus On ?
Since there are a lot of problems on leetcode (around 3400) I think its best to know what to focus on first. After searching around the internet I found that there's a list of problems called The Blind 75 curated by a guy called YangShu. It kind of became popular and he made website for it. check it out here. So I created github repository called TheBlind75 which is private for now. I'm planning to solve at least one question a day and explaining each step. I know that this is available online but it doesn't mean it can't help me if it cannot help others. creating such a repository by itself is one success for me.

You can use strings as annotation in python. I used to import the type from the typing library when annotating but this kinda simplifies the process

I tried to use Clean Architecture on my latest project (spoiler alert... its not on the playstore - yet😉) and it was hilarious. Nit the fact that I tried to use it tho, its the fact that I even think about using it. Here's why

1. My project was not 'that big' to make me use uncle bob's design pattern. I mean will I ever be using it for my personal projects? (NO! Not happening)

2. What was the second one 🤔... I forgot

3. Oh I remember it was only the first one 😁

But seriously. Clean architecture is beautiful. But I think its a pattern that you use it with team. (On a project with a LOT of different features.)

Hello everybody remember me talking about joining A2SV. well they had new announcement a week and 4 days ago. I should have posted about that here but I don't know why I didn't. I applied and got interviewed 2 days ago. The session started with the technical interview where I was given a problem along with 45 minutes to solve it. I guess I solved it but it took me the whole 45 minutes. The problem was a bit tricky but once you get it, it was an easy problem. The second session was a behavioral interview where I was asked about myself, my goals, what I know about A2SV and stuff like that. anyway I'm waiting for the result and I will let you know when I get their email.

Here's some advice coming from a place of love

Stop asking good developers/ channel owners/ senior's "what should I learn"

That should be a choice you make on your own based on what you want, what you are aiming for and other things

You wouldn't go to a dating coach and ask what kind of person should i want

You ask them "i want this person, how do I get them"

Decide your path, what you want to learn, then ask for help on how to learn that thing instead.

After taking some time to solve Blind75, I stopped. Here's why

I believe the problems are for those who are preparing for an interview ahead because they don't have enough time to solve hundreds of problems in a short time. Not for learning to solve problems.

So I was looking for a structured way of learning and I got some resource from which I started learning. The files might be confidential to share but am working on something that will help others learn problem solving.
