using git checkout command feels like time traveling when you provide it a commit id. it rewrites your working directory to look like the commit you provided an id of.

There is more

This year (2024) was the year I challenged my self to do the things that seem difficult to me. A year of harder decisions. Before making those decisions I felt like if I do this and this and this my life would be better. It indeed is better but now there are more new spots.

It feels like debugging a code. Solving a series of problems one after the other. You won't know what the next problem would be without fixing the one you're facing right now.

We tend to speak of problems as if we know what the solution is without actually executing it. But when we do, the problem is still there waving 'his' hand at us (Hi babe 👋)

Nope. Let's face it. Try to do what you think is right. You'll find out that wasn't the case or that it wasn't the only.

It kinda felt wrong when I posted that I completed the Head First Git book without letting you know at the time I started reading it. so now I'm starting to read Data Structures and Algorithms in Python by Michael H. and more.

You can add specific lines of a file to the staging area in git.

After implementing the append and prepend methods of a linked list I committed and added the display method. then I realized the code just committed had problem. so I had to fix it and commit that fix. I could do it using a branch but searched if can add a specific lines of code to the staging area. It turns out it was possible

checkout the git add -p command
You can also use the interactive mode.
git add -i

I used to use the Caps key as a scape to enter to normal mode from the insert mode. Unfortunately that's no longer working and I came up with an idea. here it is...

in English there is no word starting from the letter "q" and followed by any other vowels other than "u". so I'm using "qi" to enter to normal mode. Now I don't think I'm gonna change that

you can learn vim using "learn vim" extension on vscode
