which will assemble at 1.15 outside Great St Mary's Church

There we will be sitting together in silent meditation, reflection or prayer from 12.15 and then walking in silence from 1.15 behind the big march to Parkers Piece where there will be a Climate Fair.

Today XR Cambridge activists are blocking Schlumberger, the largest oilfield services company in the world, in solidarity with activists at COP26 and around the world. They’re asking the University of Cambridge to stop hosting and profiting off fossil fuel giants like Schlumberger, which was bailed out last year by the UK government for 150 million pounds. The UK must take responsibility for its current and historic contributions to the climate crisis, and stop enriching itself at the expense of the Global South.

We need rebels to help; especially handing out leaflets, holding banners and talking with the public. We're telling the public about Schlumberger, which is a huge international 'oilfields service provider' and has a research centre in Cambridge. Should be fun - there will be Oily Spectres and the first appearance of an oil rig in Cambridge. There's the possibility of joining in with some of the theatricals - DM Tomato if you want to know more.

Travelling theatrics with an oil rig complete with oil workers and 'oily spectres' , accompanied by a soundtrack all about Cambridge's most secret polluter - Schlumberger.

Starting on Christ's Pieces and processing to the Market Square, where we'll be doing rolling performances for an hour.

Come and learn about Cambridge's very own fossil fuel giant Schlumberger - hosted by the University - and what you can do about it.

The theatre is a focal point for outreach. We will work on a piece all about our connection with nature. The plan is to be rehearsing principally, but to take advantage of it as something eye-catching for some outreach. We may decide to take it somewhere more crowded that afternoon or at a later date for a performance, or not, up to us all on the day.

We need:
- Performers - the more the merrier, all about movement and expression, not line learning!
- Outreachers - we are planning to have a hub table, this is the job of communication, so very important!

🌳 Regenerative Culture 🌳
Having a 'regenerative culture' is one of the key principles of XR, but what does it mean? What does it mean for us individually and as a group, what are we already doing, and what else we could do to make our activism sustainable?

Things to consider:
🌼 what does regenerative culture mean to me?
🔥 how can we be activists without burning out?
❤️ what happens if/when we burn out?
👤 how does the way society is currently set up make it difficult to have a truly regenerative culture?
⏳ what does it mean to do 'enough'? is this a useful concept?

We'll touch on these things and hopefully many more. Anyone welcome, whether you're totally new to XR or a seasoned activist.
