Funding opportunities for PhD and MS at University of California, Davis

I am hoping that you can help us get the word out about the opportunities
we have in the Transportation Technology and Policy (TTP) program at UC
Davis. Please share the information below with your students and encourage
them to check it out if they would like to pursue a career in
transportation with a degree in the US. We are now accepting applications
for Fall 2019.


On a personal note, this year I expect to be able to offer funding to
several students interested in doing research on future mobility, travel
behavior impacts of emerging transportation technologies, big data, and
sustainable transportation through the newly established 3 Revolutions
Future Mobility Program. All inquiries about applying to the TTP program

Postdoc opportunities in Machine Learning and Transport Research

For all recent (or upcoming) PhD graduates, I’d like to bring your attention to several 2 year postdoc grant opportunities that will become available during the next couple of months at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). - Probabilistic Graphical Models for Demand Modeling
- Causal Inference in Transport models
- Generative approaches for population synthesis
- Active Learning and Bayesian optimization for scenario discovery

Introducing new open access title Transportation Research Interdisciplinary Perspectives


We are delighted to announce the
launch of our new open access title Transportation Research Interdisciplinary Perspectives (TRIP).

TRIP is a new open access interdisciplinary journal. With support from the Elsevier family of Transportation Research A-F and other relevant journals, TRIP will publish high quality manuscripts on persistent transportation problems from international researchers and practitioners.

TRIP promotes awareness, dialogue and exchange of transportation research in emerging markets and underserved communities.

We seek authors, reviewers and editorial advisory board members from academia, research institutes, government and industry.

As a general rule members of the EAB must have published at least 5 papers in TR or associated journals and be willing to review at least 12 manuscripts per year.

Applications for the above posts are invited from individuals with a strong existing base in Intelligent Transport Systems/Connected and Autonomous Vehicles; those demonstrating strength in simulation, modelling and programming are particularly welcome. Research Associates will join a multi-disciplinary research team at Loughborough. Levitate is a truly international project involving institutions from ten different countries around the world where Loughborough University is the coordinator and leading partner. The RA will be responsible for simulation and modelling of connected and autonomous vehicles with the aim of evaluating the societal level impacts of CAVs on safety, traffic and emissions. A good degree in engineering, computer science or statistics is essential, and you will ideally possess (or working towards) a PhD degree.

I am very happy to share the news that our growing 3 Revolutions Future Mobility program at UC Davis will be hiring two postdoc researchers at the beginning of 2019. We are in particular looking for two experts with strong scientific background and solid experience in one of the following areas:
1. Big-data analysis, advanced discrete choice modeling and/or other econometrics and machine learning techniques;
2. Spatial analyses, GIS and/or visualization tools, in particular with applications to environmental and equity analyses.
