We are seeking a single candidate for a 2-year term. The postdoctoral fellow will have office space at the University of Toronto St. George (downtown) campus, will have opportunities to collaborate with transportation researchers across multiple departments, and may affiliate themselves with the Spatial Analysis of Urban Systems<http://sausy.ca/> (SAUSy) Lab, the University of Toronto Transportation Research Institute<http://uttri.utoronto.ca/>, and the new School of Cities<http://schoolofcities.com/>. The University of Toronto is a globally ranked research university that offers postdoctoral fellows<http://www.sgs.utoronto.ca/postdoctoralfellows/Pages/default.aspx> with the highest levels of opportunity for professional and scholarly training, network development, and the opportunity to engage with stakeholders throughout the Greater Toronto Area and beyond.

Description of Duties:
The successful candidate will conduct primary research in the abovementioned projects, will be lead-author on journal articles and conference presentations, and coordinate interactions between diverse project team members across university units as well as partners in the private and government sectors. The postdoctoral fellow will assist Drs. Farber and Shalaby in the development of this research program via the organization of a workshop, engage in partnership development, and participate in collaborative grant writing.

Required qualifications:
- PhD degree in planning, geography, engineering, or related field awarded within past 5 years;
- Extensive knowledge of transportation planning, transport equity, public transportation and emerging transportation technologies;
- Demonstrated experience in quantitative analysis, GIS and network analysis, and travel behaviour modelling;
- Excellent written and oral communication in English;
- Excellent personal time management, project management and organizational skills;
- Possess a passion or transportation planning, public transportation, and social equity.

Salary: $53,400/ year + benefits and 15 days of vacation

Employment as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Toronto is covered by the terms of the CUPE 3902 Unit 5 Collective Agreement.

توضیحات تکمیلی در خصوص این ژورنال به شرح زیر است:
We are looking for original research papers applying big data techniques to transportation problems. The problems big data techniques are applied to can range from improvement in real-time transportation operations, transportation planning to near term prediction of crash risk. The paper may provide novel ideas about improved data ingestion, data curation, data archiving, data visualization, data security etc. for better transportation decision making. The data being used in the paper should at least satisfy on of the 3 V’s of the Gartner’s definition of big data i.e., high volume, high velocity or high variety. Also, knowledge discovery should use holistic approach instead of sampling and aggregation techniques to be considered as big data application. The techniques could involve CPU, RAM, GPU based high performance computing for batch analytics, stream processing, big data visualization, deep learning, or distributed computing such as block chain applications for enhanced security and smart contracts.
