IRF e-Learning Webinar
Innovative Financing for Road Safety Presenter:
Michael G. Dreznes | IRF GLOBAL
For too long, road safety improvements have not been implemented because the road authority did not have the funds. This webinar will:
* Emphasize that claiming to be "impecunious" is not a legal defense,
* Introduce non-traditional methods that could be used to pay for road safety improvements, and
* Encourage participants to be more creative when sourcing funds for road safety.
The International Road Federation says, "No More White Flags" when it comes to road safety. This webinar will give road authorities and safety councils the substance they need to support this motto.
Thursday, March 1
11:00 AM EST (15:00 UTC)

We are recruiting a postdoc researcher on the topic of "modeling of drivers' behavior while using EVs and optimal location of charging stations"
Job description:
ELECTRIC TRAVELING is a project funded by Electric Mobility Europe that belongs to ERA-NET, an instrument under Horizon 2020 to support research in the EU.
The project is intended to ease the implementation and further development of electromobility (e-mobility) in urban and suburban areas. The project results will provide adequate ICT tools to identify smart e-mobility solutions adapted to specific urban or suburban areas and will ease the introduction of electric vehicles (EVs) and the required charging stations in the existing transport infrastructure.
The tasks involved in the post-doctoral position include:
- Surveying electric vehicle' users regarding their behavior. Both stated and the revealed preference data will be used to improve the current models which explain the drivers' route choices. We are interested namely in obtaining trade-offs between the number, size and trip motive in explaining a particular path in the city.
- Work on optimization models to deploy charging stations that will be able to facilitate long-distance travels and the urban demands considering drivers' behavior, urban characteristics and legal regulations.
⚠️ Applicants should have the following qualifications: Ph.D. in Transportation; Solid background in transportation systems modeling, ideally with prior transport optimization research experience and behavior modeling; Willingness and ability to communicate in English with both the other scientific partners and a company.
To apply, please e-mail a detailed CV, incl. list of publications and a letter of application by 15 March 2018 to CiTG Human Resources, Recruitment-CiTG@tudelft.nl<mailto:Recruitment-CiTG@tudelft.nl>. When applying for this position, please refer to vacancy number CITG18-08.
