This is a reminder that the deadline for the receipt of abstracts for the 46th European Transport Conference to be held in Dublin from 10 - 12 October, is 6 February.
The general Call for Papers and specific ones issued by Programme Committees can be found on the website: <http://www.aetransport.org/> www.aetransport.org Instructions on how to submit an abstract are also to be found there.
The major themes identified for ETC this year are:
* New mobility patterns, digitisation and Mobility as a Service
* Automated driving and connected vehicles/infrastructure
* Mobility for liveable cities, including urban mobility, air quality, health and active travel
* TEN-T extension to the Balkans and further east, the new silk road
* Air transport and travel
* The wider economic benefits of transport investment
The Young Researchers' and Practitioners' Forum has its own Call for Papers and is also calling for proposals for workshops to be run during the Conference.

مطالعهای در خصوص آسیبهای روانی دانشجویان دکتری در نشریه «سیاست پژوهش» انتشارات الزویر
مقاله ای در نشریه «سیاست پژوهش» انتشارات الزویر چاپ شده است که شرایط روحی و روانی دانشجویان دکتری را در کشور بلژیک مد نظر قرار داده است. بر اساس این مطالعه و نمونه مطالعه شده، 32% از دانشجویان دکتری در معرض یک اختلال روانپزشکی رایج (common psychiatric disorder) بخصوص افسردگی هستند. این مقاله بیان میکند سیاستهای سازمانی و بستر کاری و سازمانی که دانشجو در آن است، چطور میتواند ریسک آسیبهای روانی را در دانشجویان دکتری کم کند. یادآوری میشود این مطالعه بر روی 3659 دانشجوی بلژیکی است که در شرایط رفاهی، اقتصادی، سازمانی و اجتماعی کشور بلژیک مشغول به تحصیل دکتری هستند و برای کشور خودمان شاید اعداد و ارقام به مراتب نگران کننده تر باشد.

دو موقعیت دکتری حمل و نقل در دانشگاه سیدنی
The Institute of Transport and Logistics Studies (ITLS) at the University of Sydney Business School are offering 2 PhD Scholarships whose research is focussed on public transport. The recipient will be based in the ITLS within the University of Sydney Business School. The Institute of Transport and Logistics Studies is a renowned international centre of thought leadership in the crucially linked areas of transport, infrastructure, logistics and supply chain management. Applicants must have an unconditional offer of admission for full-time studies for a PhD with the ITLS within the University of Sydney Business School, and be willing to undertake research in the field of public transport. Applicants must also hold an Honours degree (First Class or Second Class upper) or a Master's degree in a related field with a substantial research component. The applicant must have demonstrable skills in quantitative and qualitative data analysis methods.
The Scholarship provides a stipend of AU$32,000 per annum (fixed rate). The Student Services Amenities fee is also provided for a successful applicant, for the same duration as the stipend allowance. Academic tuition fees will be provided for an international student who obtains a Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 85 or equivalent in their prior tertiary studies.
Duration: Up to three years, subject to satisfactory academic performance. The recipient may apply for an extension of up to 6 months.

گروه برنامه ریزی حملونقل دانشگاه تربیت مدرس 🇮🇷در ادامه همکاری با پژوهشکده برنامه ریزی حملونقل و مهندسی ترافیک دانشگاه فنی وین🇦🇹، دوره ی آموزشی یک روزه با عنوان "ضروریات توسعه حملونقل پایدار" را برگزار می کند. در این برنامه شاخص ترین اساتید توسعه حملونقل پایدار از اتریش 🇦🇹و ایران 🇮🇷مشترکاً به بررسی مهمترین مباحث و به روزترین موضوعات حوزه توسعه حملونقل پایدار؛ از جمله حملونقل انسانمحور، برنامهریزی یکپارچه حملونقل و کاربری زمین، و پایش آثار زیست محیطی زیرساختهای حملونقل خواهند پرداخت. لازم به ذکر است که این دوره درست یک روز پیش از هفدهمین کنفرانس بین المللی حملونقل و ترافیک تهران، شنبه 1396/11/28 از ساعت 8 تا 16 در سالن جابربنحیان دانشگاه تربیت مدرس برگزار خواهد شد.

NACTO Webinar: Designing Streets for All Ages & Abilities Bicycling

Join this public webinar for an overview of the newest NACTO design resource, Designing for All Ages & Abilities: Contextual Guidance for High-Comfort Bicycle Facilities. Developed by cities, for cities, the document provides concrete guidance for matching bicycle infrastructure to streets, and identifying common sources of stress that deter the majority of would-be riders. Crucially, the guide makes an equity case for setting an All Ages & Abilities benchmark—from promoting mobility for the growing senior population to improving the safety of bicyclists riding on inadequate infrastructure.
During this webinar, hear about new survey data from the UK into how researchers are identifying barriers to riding among people with disabilities, along with lessons from the City of Cambridge (UK), where 26% of people with disabilities commute by bike. The World Conference on Transport Research Society (WCTRS) is happy to announce that the 15th World Conference will be held from 26-31 May 2019 in MUMBAI (India) at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay.
The aims of the conference are to bring together experts in all areas of transport research from all parts of the world and to stimulate the exchange of ideas in the field of transport policy and practice.
Authors are invited to submit one or more full papers to the following topic areas:
A. Transport Modes: General
B. Freight Transport and Logistics
C. Traffic Management, Operations, and Safety
D. Activity and Transport Demand
E. Transport Economics and Finance
F. Transport, Land Use, and Sustainability
G. Transport Planning and Policy
H. Transport in Developing and Emerging Countries
I. Infrastructure Design and Maintenance
Authors can choose to submit their work either for the non-review track or the review track. The latter offers a thorough review process for each full paper in order to assess its potential for publication and short-listing for the award of a prize. Similar to the previous WCTR, a close cooperation with major scientific transportation journals will be agreed, to support publication of excellent papers in special issues shortly after the Conference. The organisation of the Conference is supported by Elsevier.
Detailed information on the content of each Topic Area and its Session Tracks is provided on the conference website.
On this website, information will also be available about registration possibilities, opportunities for bursary awards, the Mumbai venue, hotel reservations, travel and weather.

The Public Transport Research Group (PTRG) at Monash University, Australia are seeking a Research Fellow/Senior Research Fellow to conduct a range of activities in public transport planning and development research. PTRG runs a wide range of cross disciplinary projects with industry and has been independently ranked as the top research school in this field in Australia and is 3rd ranked globally. PTRG also runs the World Transit Research Clearinghouse and largest cluster of industry funded PhD students studying in the field; SEPT-GRIP.
We are seeking candidates with a relevant PhD but also research and industry experience to help the public transport industry address economic, urbanisation and environmental challenges of cities into the future.
