This post will be the most challenging and candid one on my channel.
Lately, I've been feeling quite down on myself due to the mistakes I've been making. I've doubted whether I should share these thoughts on my channel, where I typically showcase my wins and positive moments. But hey, this isn't Instagram, right? So, I've decided to open up about what's been going on, and maybe some of you can relate.
So, what's been happening?
- I've fallen into the trap of procrastination.
- I find myself getting sick more often.
- I wait for the "perfect moment" to tackle tasks.
- My eating habits have taken a turn for the unhealthy.
- I struggle with maintaining focus.
- I haven't ticked off half the checkboxes I set for myself at the beginning of 2023 (I might share a separate post analyzing what's gone wrong).
- I've neglected reading and listening to podcasts.
These issues are impacting both my development as an engineer and as a person. Here's a spoiler: I won't be offering solutions on how to avoid these pitfalls; instead, I'll share my failures. If my attempts were successful, I'd probably be selling courses on productivity, but that's not the case)
One of the biggest traps I fall into is convincing myself that starting from Monday, I'll adhere to discipline and be productive – only to fail. Similarly, I often promise myself that after enjoying a Friday night out, I'll kickstart a period of growth the next day, yet I forget it all. The cycle continues after a night of indulging in fast food, with the vow to only eat salads moving forward – another promise broken.
I recently found inspiration in the YouTube content of Maksim Zhashkevych, and I'll leave some links to his video podcasts below. Perhaps some of you might find them helpful [RU].
Why am I sharing this? To dispel the illusion that everything is smooth sailing for me and that success comes effortlessly. Perhaps you need some motivation to realize that you're not alone in facing challenges, and that it's okay to grapple with them. We're all in this together, figuring it out as we go.

Typically, I divide my reading into two parts. The first part related to my growth as a specialist, while the second part is dedicated to exploring classic literature. I'm not a book warm at all, but I'm trying to add this habit to my daily routine.
Next, I want to read more about management and working with people as it is difficult for me to communicate with some people and find the right way to explain. So yeah, if you're curious about the books on my current reading list, I've shared them in a web.

As hinted in the forwarded message, I'm working on my diploma project juggling roles such as developer, manager, tester, and more. I'm considering my project as a startup, where adaptability is paramount, and shifts occur in the blink of an eye.
I want share my progress so far. Employing Excalidraw has proven to be a game-changer. It acts as my primary tool for sketching design prototypes, delineating project flows, specifying requirements, and more. The inclusion of a handwriting font and angle curves adds an extra layer of utility, rendering it an indispensable asset.
Beyond the realms of design, engineering, and testing, I have to be in entrepreneur, entrusted with selling my product. Analyzing the market, pinpointing the target audience, prioritizing features, meeting deadlines, and scrutinizing metrics—all these facets require a comprehensive approach, drawing upon the knowledge amassed over the past four years in the university. So the point of this post is to share a valuable resource I've tapped into—the Stanford's nine-year-old course titled "How to Start a Startup" spearheaded by Sam Altman, now the CEO of OpenAI and Y Combinator. Currently enrolled in this course, I recommend you explore its wealth of knowledge!

Just finished the series "Sales and Marketing", and I just loved this series for how clearly and simply the speakers explain. Michaels' pitching tips seem really good and practical. In a recent podcast on nFactorial, Tilek talked about how useful Michael was as his mentor in the YC. Also, at the end of the episode, they showed 2 ways to present your idea to potential investors, it's remarkable how much ideas from 9 years ago are still valuable in the current reality

Recently, there has been a growing trend among Uzbek companies to implement gamification features. For instance, Payme has introduced the game "Yoki-yoki," and Yandex.Eats has added special tasks with rewards. This strategic move proves beneficial in retaining users within the app, and in the case of express24, it increases the patience of the users while delivering.
good move huh?

I love habr, the ecosystem behind it, its community, and articles. Somehow, I found that habr is better for me than reddit.
Today, I found out that Uzum started running their page as well, like other well-known companies, that's what I would like to see more in our uzbek companies, when the people behind the products start talking and sharing their experience!

Interesting take-away, I've always been curious about how Uzum maintains the quality of product previews with excellent images, while many companies tend to use random pictures, like those often seen on OLX

1 month and I will almost graduate from my university, that still hard to realize that there is no longer something that keeps you on the path, like a school with its 11-year roadmap or a university. Sometimes its scary to accept it, is this what they call maturity?
Anyways, I tried to leave at least something behind for my university by running Algorithms (AlgoGym) and Computer Science clubs. I hope that I have left some foundation after me and encourage students to pursue their degrees with fun and enthasuism

Atomic Habits
Hello! I recently finished reading the highly acclaimed book "Atomic Habits" and wanted to share some insights that I found particularly beneficial.
Initially, I was skeptical about starting this book due to its immense popularity, but I soon realized it deserved all the attention it received. What favored me the most was the author's writing style and how each technique and detail was illustrated through stories of individuals who have successfully applied these methods. The storytelling was exceptionally engaging. Although some of my friends mentioned that the book tends to reiterate basic principles, I personally believe that we often overlook these seemingly minor yet fundamental aspects of life, and it's crucial to focus more on them.
Here are some highlights that resonated with me:
- The book recounts the story of a woman who poses a question to herself before making any decision: "What would a better version of myself do in this situation?" I've found this method to be incredibly impactful in my own life. Whenever I feel inclined to miss a workout or order unhealthy food, asking myself this question motivates me to make choices that align with becoming a better version of myself.
- Another memorable narrative is about the British cyclists who experienced a turnaround in their performance when a new coach focused on the minutiae and demonstrated genuine care, leading to their success. This story reminded me of Ted Lasso and how he transformed a football team by addressing small issues. The parallel with Ted Lasso's story struck a chord with me, especially since I had discussed the similarity with friends after learning about the cyclists' story.
- The book also taught me about habit formation. By adhering to the principles of making habits obvious, attractive, easy, and satisfying, I appreciated the idea of starting small—for instance, reading for at least one minute or exercising for one minute. This approach helps in gradually dedicating more time to beneficial habits as they become more ingrained.
These insights from "Atomic Habits" have been incredibly useful, and I hope they inspire you as much as they have inspired me.
