People are genuinely outraged and shocked at Snow White being portrayed by an off-white actress. They don't seem to understand that the average little girl in America (the demographic for Snow White) looks like Rachel Zegler, so while I am sure there's Jewish malice involved, they are also adapting to the reality of the new market.
A lot of white Americans don't live in real America, they live in sprawling strip mall laden white people reservations in the middle of nowhere hiding from the truth about our country. I suspect this is what informs the gap in skepticism about the viability of American as a category between urban whites and rural whites. USA has gone from 80% white to 50% white in my own lifetime and I can hardly believe the speed of this transformation when I see it. We have much much bigger problems than the black snow white or black little mermaid.
