A Moi University student identified by his TikTok username Douglas Ayienda is feared dead after being swept away by strong currents at River Kesses waterfall near the institution's main campus in Eldoret on Sunday, March 29. He had visited the site with a female friend and entered the swollen river before disappearing over the waterfall. Divers from Uasin Gishu County were deployed, but the body remained unrecovered, possibly trapped between rocks. Fellow students held a riverside vigil, criticizing the university's slow response. This marks the fourth student death at Moi University in under two months.
