🇬🇧 Prime Minister Starmer says the UK will not be "drawn" into the US-Israeli war with Iran.

Russia has agreed to suspend the recruitment of Kenyan citizens to fight in Ukraine, Kenyan Foreign Minister Musalia Mudavadi says following talks in Moscow with his Russian counterpart, Sergei Lavrov.

His Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, maintains those who joined had done so voluntarily by signing contracts with the Russian army.

Russia is portraying Kenyans on the frontlines not as trafficked victims or wrongly enlisted foreigners, but as voluntary recruits who knowingly entered military service.

That makes any rescue, repatriation or special diplomatic intervention much harder.

Mudavadi says the government has also arranged consular support through the Defence Ministry to assist Kenyans in Russia who may require help, including hospital visits and other assistance through proper diplomatic channels.
