🇷🇺 Russia’s 81st Victory Day Parade Goes Hardware-Free Amid Ukraine War

Moscow’s iconic May 9 Victory Day parade will take place without tanks, missiles or armored vehicles for the first time in nearly two decades.

Citing the “current operational situation,” the Defense Ministry has scrapped the traditional heavy equipment column, a hallmark of Kremlin military displays.

Foot soldiers and an aerial flyover will remain. The scaled-back event on the 81st anniversary of Soviet victory over Nazi Germany underscores the strain of the Ukraine conflict, with much equipment committed to the front and heightened fears of Ukrainian strikes on the capital.

A symbolic shift for Russia's signature spectacle.

🇨🇳 In a stunning move amid a continued purge of its military, China on Thursday gave two former defense ministers suspended death sentences for corruption.

Wei Fenghe and Li Shangfu were both convicted of bribery and given the death penalty with a two-year reprieve by the country’s military court, according to state media. The court announced that the two former generals’ sentences will be commuted to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole after two years.

Wei, 72, served as defense minister from 2018 to 2023. Li, 68, succeeded Wei and held the position for less than eight months in 2023. Both men were placed under investigation by the military’s anti-graft arm in 2023.

Chinese leader Xi Jinping has taken his purge of the armed forces to the very top, most recently targeting his highest-ranked general with the removal in January of Zhang Youxia, who outranked Wei and Li and once oversaw the military’s day-to-day operations.

Xi’s shake-up has cut across a wide swath of China’s 2 million-strong People’s Liberation Army (PLA) –– with more than 100 officers potentially ousted since 2022.

Hantavirus was first discovered on MV Hondius during a 2026 expedition cruise. Originally linked to Patagonia excursions, the outbreak infected seven people and caused three deaths. Authorities monitored the ship near Cape Verde, investigating rare person-to-person transmission of the Andes strain while implementing strict isolation protocols to protect global health.
🇺🇸 Texas Congressman Joaquin Castrot request US government to stop playing blind eye to Israeli nuclear capabilities.

Wants everything revealed.

"For nearly six decades the U.S. has voluntarily remained in the dark on Israel's nuclear capabilities," he says

'THE AMBIGUITY ENDS NOW," he vows

He continued, 'There is too much at stake to accept ignorance. We are at war alongside Israel against Iran without knowing what their red lines are for using a nuclear weapon'

I led a group of 30 lawmakers to demand an end to the ambiguity.

🍆 🍑 ONLYFANS has a new Owner after founder's death

Yekaterina Chudnovsky has taken control of the business behind OnlyFans following the death of billionaire owner Leonid Radvinsky from cancer earlier this year.

Chudnovsky, 42, now owns at least 75% of shares and voting rights to OnlyFans’ parent company Fenix, as well as the right to appoint and remove a majority of Fenix's board, according to the filing.

A Northwestern undergrad and DePaul law graduate, Chudnovsky has spent her career outside the OnlyFans operation, though a source close to the couple previously told Forbes she was Radvinsky’s “de facto business partner.”

She is a corporate lawyer at a privately held tech firm, sits on the boards of Elicio Therapeutics and Immix Biopharma and serves as an adviser to the Rare Cancer Research Foundation, according to her bios on those organizations' websites.

🇺🇸 Instagram Discontinues End-to-End Encryption for DMs

Meta has officially ended support for end-to-end encrypted direct messages on Instagram, removing a key privacy feature for its users.

The move comes amid growing concerns over messaging security. Elon Musk and Telegram CEO Pavel Durov have repeatedly highlighted vulnerabilities and data leaks associated with WhatsApp.

As major platforms face scrutiny over user data handling, privacy advocates urge greater transparency and stronger protections in digital communications.
