๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ท ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ฆ ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฑ Footage shows the moment Iranian ballistic missiles struck near an industrial complex in Saudi Arabiaโ€™s Jubail, sparking a huge fire.

Saudi Arabiaโ€™s defence ministry said seven ballistic missiles were intercepted Tuesday (April 7, 2026), with debris falling near energy facilities in the east. Iran also launched drones in the attack on the petrochemical hub.

The broader US-Israel war on Iran began with surprise airstrikes on February 28, 2026, killing Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and triggering Iranian retaliation across the region.

Tonight: Tensions peak as Trumpโ€™s 8 p.m. ET deadline for Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz looms. Failure could trigger massive US strikes on Iranian power plants and infrastructure, with fears of further Iranian attacks on Gulf targets or cable sabotage

๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ณChina shuts down part of their airspace for military drills.

China has blocked off large areas of airspace over the sea for 40 days. The restrictions, which began in late March and are set to continue until early May, have not been explained by Beijing.

Such long-duration airspace closures are uncommon. Typically, these notices are linked to military drills that last only a few days. The extended timeline, along with the lack of any official announcement, has led to speculation about the purpose behind the decision.

The restricted zones stretch from Taiwan; 340 miles from Yellow Sea to near Shanghai.

The airspace warnings were issued as โ€œNotice to Air Missionsโ€ (Notams). These alerts are generally used to inform pilots about temporary hazards or restrictions. However, experts believe the current situation could indicate preparations for more complex military activities.

๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ฐPakistan's prime minister Shehbaz Sharif pleads with President Trump to extend the deadline by two weeks, 'to allow diplomacy to run its course'.

Pakistan's role as intermediary in this conflict took many by surprise.

But perhaps it shouldn't.

The head of its armed forces, Field Marshal Asim Munir, is in Donald Trump's favour. Trump frequently refers to him as his "favourite".

Iran is not only a neighbour of Pakistan, with whom it shares a 900km (559 miles) or so border, but by its own messages also has a "brotherly" relationship with deep cultural and religious ties.

It also has no US air bases and has not yet been pulled into the conflict.

Crucially, it is willing to wade in - peace between the US and Iran by many accounts would be in its interest.

Still, there have been questions about how a country embroiled in conflict with two of its neighbours - Afghanistan and India - has positioned itself as a bringer of peace. - BBC
