Peace be upon you and God's mercy and blessings.
I received your condolence letter on the occasion of the martyrdom of the Supreme Leader of the Great Islamic Revolution, as well as your letter containing feelings of love and longing on behalf of the Lebanese mujahideen brothers in Hezbollah.

Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong has shared a post on social media acknowledging two years have passed since Australian aid worker Zomi Frankcom was “killed in an Israeli strike while delivering vital humanitarian aid in Gaza”.

Frankcom was one of seven World Central Kitchen workers killed in the Israeli attack in central Gaza on April 1, 2024.

Wong said that the Australian government is still pressing for “full accountability, including any appropriate criminal charges,” over Frankcom’s death.

The Australian government “has made clear our expectation that there be transparency about Israel’s ongoing investigation into the deaths of Zomi and her six World Central Kitchen colleagues,” Wong added.

In addition, Wong said that 110 countries have committed to the Declaration for the Protection of Humanitarian Personnel, which Australia introduced at the UN in response to the killing of Frankcom.

The Israeli military says it successfully targeted a person it described as the head of engineering for the Lebanon Corps in IRGC’s Quds Force.

It said Mahdi Vafa’i was killed in the central city of Mahallat.

It claimed that Vafa’i advanced “underground projects” in Lebanon and Syria for two decades as part of the elite Quds Force, including establishing infrastructure for Hezbollah and managing weapons storage.

There was no immediate comment from Iran.

Israel has targeted Quds members throughout the war on Iran, including when it attacked a hotel in the centre of Beirut last month.
