I know many of you are hoping for more Wolcensmen music. There is one very special and interesting cover song that has been recorded for a tribute album which will be announced soon. I'm excited to see that released.
Other than that, as some of you may know, I've been busy settling into my roles in Bavarian Black Metal band Gràb, and English Epic Doom stalwarts Solstice. I'm busy writing new music with both bands, and that doesn't leave time for Wolcensmen, for the foreseeable future.
Also, I gave my all to Fire in the White Stone, and I still feel that way. Until I feel like I can improve upon that album, or offer something a little different and interesting, my efforts will be focussed elsewhere.
But Wolcensmen is certainly not dead. It just has no obligations, except to myself and my own standards.

My friend Robin just released his excellent sophomore album 'Katabasis' under the banner 'Windthrow'. I had the honour of handling logo-design and layout again (not cover art, which is by the excellent Dávid Glomba), and it's always great when I get to work with quality projects. Being a designer enables me to become aware of many more newer bands than I otherwise would. SUPPORT QUALITY NEW BANDS!

If you're looking for an interesting and festive little Yule gift for friends or family, allow me to put forth my book Fire in the White Stone for consideration.
It's a timeless short story suitable for most ages. Just £10 from here and there's an option to have it signed. Most GB orders will receive it next day delivery and there should still be time to receive it if you're outside of Britain.

Now here's something really rare and special - a final opportunity to own a copy of the very first pressing of Fire in the White Stone (book) in cloth hardcover edition.
In 2019, the first and only hardcover pressings of Fire in the White Stone were released: 100 red, 100 black, all hand-numbered. All sold out within days of release but I (the author) have found a single remaining copy in an envelope which I didn't know I had.
This version of the book will never be re-printed and is now only available as a softcover pocket book printed by Lulu or Amazon. This final remaining hardcover will be numbered 100/100 and the winning bidder can have it signed and/or dedicated as they wish.
eBay auction link (see here for more photos)
Money from this sale will be dedicated to funding my upcoming musical and literary projects.
(Note: Original eBay listing was ended and relisted due to my mistake in not allowing international bids)

Another 'Wolcensmen' scammer doing the rounds. Remember: this channel, and anyone called 'Wolcensmen', will NEVER message you. If they have, it's a scammer.
If you're still looking for last-minute Yule gifts, those in Britain ordering my book today (by 4:30pm) should receive it tomorrow or Friday.

As the sun sets here, in Britain, marking the start of Mother's Night, the Yuletide, and the new year, I offer this. I share it every Yuletide so many of you already know it, but some might not. Enjoy.

The Real Yule Story - The Northern Shaman

We enjoy listening to this each winter-Jól (Jul / Yule)
We have made it a household tradition to listen to this play just prior to putting up our Jól-tree.

Music, like any art, is there to be enjoyed; to entertain and to set our thoughts in motion. Its consumption is only one half of the process - the other half is its creation. Most artists live for that act of creation. It's what drives them, what nourishes their soul, and what gives meaning to their lives.
When music is not the result of human creative process, then it is not art - it is product. It may entertain, and it can certainly make plenty of money for platforms like Spotify, but it is not an act of creation. If it didn't nourish someone's soul in its making, can it truly nourish the soul of the listener?
I am of course writing here about AI generation tools, which I refuse to even name. And it goes without saying that any AI-generated aspect of a product which is otherwise man-made lessens its overall artistic value.
It's commonplace to see commentators mockingly dismiss the threat of AI on the grounds that 'it can't generate anything very good', and they're right, for now. 'Good' in this context is what the consumer deems worthy of consumption, and it won't be long before many consumers deem AI-generated music good enough to consume on a regular basis.
I'm writing this, firstly, as a promise to all that I will never knowingly use AI tools in my creative process. I'm also writing this because I want you to know that YOU (and I) will play a role in strengthening or weakening human culture, through our consumer decisions. Insisting upon real art will be more expensive, more difficult, and will be seen by increasing numbers of people as unnecessarily stubborn, but it will nourish the soul.

I don't like to comment on petty internet drama, but there are a number of lies being told about me...
Firstly, that I was kicked out of Winterfylleth for being 'too dodgy'. In actual fact, I left the band despite the protestations of my bandmates - ask them if you like. Because I'm an advocate of medical freedom and bodily autonomy, I chose not to take the Covid jabs. That meant that for a while, most European states would bar me from entering. I didn't want to hinder the touring opportunities of Winterfylleth or Arð so I stepped down from my live role in both. This is one of the main reasons for my departure.
Secondly, that I am 'transphobic' or peddle 'hate'. In actuality, I am not afraid of or disgusted by transexual people, or indeed any people (except those who wish others harm). Not one man or woman in the world will be able to point to a single example of me treating anyone, no matter their sexuality (or race, for that matter) in a discriminatory manner.
I'm a strong believer in freedom of association, so bandmates past and present, and other associates of mine, do not necessarily share my worldview. I pride myself on my open-mindedness. I am an honest and open man - I have nothing to hide and am proud of the way I conduct myself.
Truth stated. Thank you.

If you use Facebook, I'd very much appreciate some 'likes' and words of support on the above post. The campaign against me is quite strong - the music scene needs to see that most people don't buy into the lies. Facebook link.
