WIUT hosted the first Uzbekistan - United Kingdom Education Forum
The Forum is a joint initiative between the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovations of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the University of Westminster (UK), the British Council in Uzbekistan, and hosted by WIUT on March 2-3. 2023 is declared by the President of Uzbekistan as the Year of Quality Education.
The Forum brought together key senior stakeholders in Uzbek-UK Transnational Education (TNE) who shared their experiences, reflected collectively on primary challenges and opportunities, and identified priorities for the two countries' collaboration on education.
The Forum also included workshops and discussions on quality assurance in Uzbek-UK higher education, inclusive higher education and best practices in employer, business, industry and alumni engagement.

The First International Sports Match
WIUT's Wolves Volleyball and Basketball student teams played against the University of Westminster's (UK) Dragons on Saturday March 4th.
In women's volleyball, WIUT's team was the winner after a super competitive match during which both teams fought hard and played exceptionally well.
In men's basketball, UoW's team won the match in a game that offered spectators fascinating jump shoots, lay ups and impressive pick and rolls!
The two all star historic games were attended by lots of students, faculty members and senior management from both Universities.
We were very happy to meet such amazing students from the UK! Thank you for coming to WIUT! Thank you for coming to Tashkent, Uzbekistan!

WIUT Graduates Win UK Alumni Awards
The British Council hosted for another year the UK Alumni Awards Ceremony 2023. The winners were announced by Timothy Torlot, British Ambassador to Uzbekistan, and Denise Waddingham, Director of the British Council in Uzbekistan. The four Awards categories were as follows:
- Business and Innovation
- Culture and Creativity
- Science and Sustainability
- Social Activity
WIUT's Graduate Azizbek Kurbonov (BSc Economics with Finance, 2018) won the Business and Innovation category. He is the co-founder and marketing director of Sug’urta Bozor, the first insurance marketplace in Uzbekistan.
This year there was a 5th winner. Denis Roman, WIUT Graduate (BSc Business Information Systems, 2017) won the "Ambassador's Choice" nomination. He is the CEO and co-founder of the communications agency, We Digital.

Twenty participants from WIUT and the Academic Lyceum under WIUT participated in a charity show charming all the guests with their outstanding performances!
The jury consisted of five members:

- Ashot Danielyan, Vocalist of the group "Elektrooko"
- Asal Saparbayeva-Litos, Master of Sports of international class, Blogger

We are sharing with you some of the photos of our 2023 Student Ambassadors who actively take part in WIUT's social life!
WIUT offers a fantastic opportunity to active students who are eager to improve their leadership and communication skills in representing our University to prospective students, their parents and visitors!
Each year, we select up to 10 students who participate in the Student Ambassador Programme who perform the following duties:
- Represent WIUT during important events
- Conduct campus tours
- Host prospective students on campus
- Share experiences with students/teachers in regions outside of Tashkent
- Assist in the organisation of "Open Days"
The programme offers Student Ambassadors a number of benefits:
- Gain valuable volunteer experience
- Develop professional skills
- Receive a letter of recommendation for their services.

WIUT hosts Table Tennis tournament
WIUT has just wrapped up an exciting Rector's Cup tournament in table tennis. This year we hosted 12 international university teams in Tashkent. The tournament was a huge success, showcasing some of the best table tennis student talents.
WIUT students won the tournament! Congratulations to all the winners and participants! 🎉 🏆
The Rector's Cup tournaments is just one of many initiatives the university aims to inspire all students to lead active, healthy lives and continue pursuing their sports passions!
