Two recent institutional signals converge toward a clear strategic direction for the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

In late December 2025, the Social Fund of the DRC announced the upcoming launch of the Sovereign Gold Reserve Token (SGRT), a sovereign monetary instrument backed by the country’s mineral and forest resources. On January 2, 2026, during the 73rd Council of Ministers, the President of the Republic explicitly placed the year 2026 under the banner of achieving concrete results in government action.
