Thank you for your continued interest in supporting **Lumera**.

We’re pleased to share that **Lumera’s Mainnet has officially launched in a private phase**, with an initial cohort of **20 Genesis validators** actively securing the chain. This internal launch has allowed us to verify stable block production, finalize network architecture, and rigorously test critical modules such as governance, storage, authentication, and AI inference.

As we enter the next phase, we’re opening validator onboarding to additional teams. That said, **__we ask all participants to respect the confidential nature of this early phase__**. Public communication about Lumera’s Mainnet should be withheld until our full public release. We deeply appreciate your discretion and professionalism as we collectively ensure network stability and security.

**Validator Eligibility & Cosmos Active Set Dynamics**

As a **Cosmos SDK-based chain**, **any operator may register a validator node** by submitting a `create-validator` transaction. However, only the top **50 validators by total stake (self + delegated)** are included in the **active set**, meaning they actively participate in consensus and earn block rewards.

The **50-validator cap is a launch parameter** defined in the genesis configuration to optimize performance, governance throughput, and monitoring during this critical early phase. This size allows us to test the system under manageable conditions while maintaining meaningful decentralization.

Over time, this cap **can be increased through on-chain governance**. Any validator or community member can propose changes to the active set size, which will be subject to a network-wide vote. This flexibility ensures that Lumera can scale its validator set as adoption grows, while staying true to its decentralized governance framework.

Validators outside the active set remain in **standby** and can move into the active set as they gain delegations. In this model, **Foundation delegation will play an important role** in helping promising validators enter the active set, especially during these early stages.

**Foundation Delegation Priorities**

To support a diverse, secure, and mission-aligned validator set, the Lumera Foundation will delegate based on:

- **Operational Reliability:** Strong uptime, no slashing history, and consistent performance across testnets or other Cosmos chains.
- **Infrastructure Quality:** Secure, redundant, and professionally managed setups with monitoring and failover systems.
- **Ecosystem Contributions:** Highly engaged in governance, community building, tooling, and education.
- **Geographic and Infrastructure Diversity:** Decentralization across hosting providers, jurisdictions, and operational strategies.
- **Alignment with Lumera’s Vision:** Teams contributing to modules such as **Cascade** (storage), **Inference** (AI/LLM compute), or **Sense** (authentication) will be prioritized.

We’re looking to support a mix of seasoned validators and new contributors bringing differentiated value to Lumera.
