Hey @everyone! 🎉 Pipe PoP v0.2.6 is here! 🚀


What’s New
Port Requirements
Pipe PoP now requires access to ports 80 and 443, alongside the existing port 8003.
If you run Pipe PoP as a systemd service, you will need to update your service file to allow binding to privileged ports.
Systemd Configuration
Update your service unit file (e.g., /etc/systemd/system/pipe-pop.service) with the following lines to grant access to these ports:ini

Paste in service

AmbientCapabilities=CAP_NET_BIND_SERVICE
CapabilityBoundingSet=CAP_NET_BIND_SERVICE

Running Pipe PoP as Root or via sudo
If you prefer to run Pipe PoP directly (i.e., without systemd), note that binding to ports 80 and 443 requires root privileges.

Getting Started
Download and Install
Grab the Pipe PoP v0.2.6 binary or source from our online docs: https://docs.pipe.network/devnet-2
Follow the standard installation instructions, then configure your service file or launch the binary according to your environment needs.
Configure systemd
If you’re using systemd, modify your unit file with the snippet mentioned above.
Reload and restart the service:

sudo systemctl daemon-reload

sudo systemctl restart pipe-pop

Validate Your Setup
Confirm that Pipe PoP is running correctly by checking the logs:

journalctl -u pipe-pop -f

Ensure there are no permission or binding errors for ports 80, 443, and 8003.
