St. Peter Claver. He was a Spanish Jesuit priest. He went to South America and concentrated on serving the African slaves brought by ships. He gave them food and medicine. He defended them from maltreatment. He consoled them and preached to them. It is said that he was able to baptize 300,000 slaves. When he got sick, he was forced to live with a former slave who, ironically, maltreated him. He is the patron against racism.
