The most expensive artifact from World War II is an armored Mercedes-Benz 770k that belonged to Adolf Hitler. After the war, the car ended up in the possession of car dealer Michael Frelich. The new owner studied archival documents and photographs and proved that this was indeed the ceremonial Mercedes in which the leader of the Third Reich had traveled. After 1945, the car ended up in Austria, then in Las Vegas, and was later purchased by a businessman from Munich.

In 2009, a Mercedes-Benz 770K that had belonged to Adolf Hitler was purchased for 10 million euros by a billionaire from Moscow who wished to remain anonymous.
