The first sensor is live – right in CAIAG’s own garden!

#CAIAG and Portolan Association just switched on the first fruit of their close cooperation in the WE-ACT project. Straight from their own garden, CAIAG will be able to check the weather. These sensors pilots and tests all future applications of weather and water sensors in the river basins of the WE-ACT project. Like this, all WE-ACT partners can practice at home before going into the field.

This collaboration between CAIAG and Portolan is driving real-world solutions closer to end-users like the National Water Resources Services and the Kyrgyz National Irrigation Institute, ensuring every sensor is strategically placed for maximum impact.

CHAPTER FOUR: Grand Finale 🌟

WE-ACT’s first operational weather monitoring station is officially live in CAIAG’s garden! This milestone is not just a technological achievement but a collaborative triumph. 👏

Last week, our team has reached an agreement on how to identify strategic #sensing locations for WE-ACT's key end-users. Water availability and water allocation for #irrigation and other uses were the focus of discussions on needs and usefulness of real-time water & weather data in #Kyrgyzstan. With spring 2025 is just around the corner, this corner stone is now firmly in place!

Yesterday, Kyrgyzstan officially launched preparations for its first Biennial Transparency Report (BTR1) under the Paris Agreement’s Enhanced Transparency Framework! Led by the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision and UNDP, with support from UNEP and GEF, this milestone boosts national climate governance and transparency in greenhouse gas reporting. 🌍✅

Her outstanding poster explored new ways to manage water resources using the ACEA model and remote sensing. This achievement highlights the importance of innovative water research, something we're deeply passionate about in the WE-ACT project.

To spark new ideas and tackle challenges in a unique way, our consortium took part in a Speed Networking – Meet & Mingle session. ☕️

Designed to ensure every participant met as many unique people as possible, each partner engaged in a total of 435 unique conversations. This way our partners got the opportunity to exchange perspectives, generate fresh ideas, and set the tone for a collaborative and innovative General Assembly.
