[WM] The power is still out in New Orleans. Flooding in the city is minimal, but there has been heavy wind damage. There is a significant amount of flooding for areas outside of the levees. Many trees were uprooted during the storm, after being in drought conditions with no rain for nearly a month now. Trees and limbs have caused a significant amount of damage to houses and vehicles, as well as power lines. There are some pockets of cell service, Verizon/ATT customers in the east bank have service while most of New Orleans is without.

[WM] *Day Three* power has come back on in parts of the city, but there’s no telling when it will completely return. Cell service is starting to return, but is spotty at best. Many homes need tarping, numerous trees need to be cleaned up off homes and out of the roads. Supply chains are disrupted.
Something to consider and discuss today (our last day) are actionable plans for the future, thinking about the next two weeks and beyond.
-As (and if) we rebuild, how are we rebuilding? Are there (feasible) alternative paths we can take as we reconstruct?
-How do our current efforts tie into preexisting projects for autonomy?
-As we begin to return to “normalcy” how do we meet our immediate needs while also rejecting the normalcy that has led us to this point?
-Is there anything that this event has changed in terms of your perspective on rebuilding or living differently in the gulf south?

[WM] !!! Thank you to all who participated in the Hurricane Drill Game. It was really cool to see everyone come together to offer skills and draw from our shared resources. Having a refresher on spaces that could be available to host pop up hubs, flexing our logistic muscles and making connections all felt really necessary and needed. Also just practicing on Telegram for folks who aren’t super familiar with using this app.
- I’ve been thinking about how similar versions of this game could be used for all different scenarios that we would want to prepare for. If anyone is excited to make their own game in that vein, let us know how it goes ! or dm us if you want any input or help with it
- It would be great to talk about what worked and what didn’t, this was our first run through so there’s definitely room for improvement.
- If y’all wanna talk on the chat about what you liked/didn’t like about it please go for it or DM us if you’d rather that.

A tornado has touched down in the greater New Orleans area, confirmed in Holy Cross, Gretna, lower 9, St. Charles, and moving through Chalmette now. Please stay safe, have a tornado plan, and look out for each other! Mutual aid will be mobilizing when it's safe to move. Many places have lost power, please be safe around the debris.

Tomorrow is the deadline day for Louisiana voters to update their voting address electronically! The due date already passed for in person (9/13) so make sure you're checking online and confirming you're registered to vote electronically! My partner and i checked ours, even though we updated it, him 3 times, and both of our info was wrong and he was listed as inactive, so make of that what you will.
