Hiii everyone, just a heads up for folks who don’t know - We’ve been discussing doing a Hurricane Drill Role Play on this channel so we can test our resources and imaginative skill sets when it comes to possibilities of future inclement weather events. This will be happening sometime in the next few days - we will make an announcement as to when it’s happening asap. It will look like one or two people being the DM (Dungeon Master) but in this case WM (Weather Mage) and they will be creating the conditions that we will as players be responding to.
The guidelines are as follows - use what you know, resources you actually have access to and believable real world examples. No magical silver bullets, consider what you can accomplish IRL. Build on the networks we have inside the city and outside of it. Imagination is heavily encouraged, for problem solving and beyond. Invite whoever you would want to participate in it, anyone who it would be relevant for locally or further outside of New Orleans.
The Hurricane Drill Role Play will take place for 3 consecutive days - more info to come…

[WM] * 36 hours earlier * Mayor Cantrell has ordered mandatory evacuations for residents in low-lying areas outside of the levee system. There is a voluntary evacuation ordered for inside the city's levee system. Many schools have closed. What have y’all been doing the past 36 hours???
[WM] Reminder for Guidelines: Use what you know, resources you actually have access to IRL and believable real world examples. No magic silver bullets, consider what you can accomplish IRL. Build on the networks we have inside the city and outside of it. For example if you aren’t local to Gulf Coast south IRL (in real life), you could organize making connections and supply runs into the city/ surrounding areas using your outside networks.

[WM] With landfall we are entering the second day of this event! Moving forward there are going to be a few changes.
1. Day 2 covers the responses in the IMMEDIATE AFTERMATH of the hurricane. Rescue and recovery efforts, emergency response, and deployment of planned resources, that sort of thing. Prioritize however you wish. This is your narrative!
2. Actions now occur more or less in real time. If you commit to do something, understand what the time limitations are and that you likely wont be able to do multiple things at the same time. Communication can be done while “doing a task” though, so feel free to chat!
3. Those that stayed in New Orleans, those that stayed outside of New Orleans, and those that Evacuated, will all face different challenges. On that note…
4. WMs will either direct message or post in chat challenges that individuals and/or groups will face. These can range from communications issues to damage assessments to resource shortages.
