On 15 Nov 2025, UP ATS ordered 8 Prayagraj-zone districts to submit full personal details (names, addresses, mobile numbers) of every madrasa student, cleric, teacher and staff member for security verification.
Officials call it a routine database update after the Red Fort blast and sleeper-cell alerts; insist it is not community-specific.
Prayagraj (206 madrasas) has already submitted data; other seven districts directed to comply immediately.
ED arrested Jawad Ahmed Siddiqui, Chairman of Al Falah Group, on 18 November 2025 under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002. The arrest follows a detailed investigation and analysis of evidence collected during searches at Al Falah Group premises as part of the ongoing PMLA probe. The court has granted ED custody for 13 days.
