In the ongoing Geopolitical conflicts of war & economy, the price of gold is hiking and many nations buying more gold to add on their reserve to overcome the foreseeable crisis.
No Major Nation use Gold Standard currency nowadays. The world economy is DEBT ECONOMY(FIAT CURRENCY). Then why buying gold is a valid question. But historically and now Gold is a commodity with a fixed value but no interest. So the trust on value can be relied on Gold.
But using which money a nation buy more gold into their reserve?
So they need to print more money or lend more money.(FIAT or DEBT)
So how does it make any difference?
And nations don't exchange gold as a common global currency for trade.
The invention of currency was to overcome the problem of barter system. So basically money is an exchange of Goods & service and it should be.Arguing for Gold standard is fine if and only if the Gold directly act as a currency as like the ancient gold & silver currency. The Gold Standard currency is also a DEBT.
