👋Introducing the Typhoon!
The Eurofighter Typhoon is one of the most advanced 4th (or 4.5 depending on your classification!) generation aircraft in the world today. It’s fair to say few aircraft have been as anticipated as this one! Germany, Great Britain and Italy will all be receiving a comparable version of this top jet fighter aircraft in the Storm Warning major update, providing each of these nations with a highly capable and agile fighter that also has considerable ground attack potential too. Let’s take a closer look at what you can expect from the Typhoon in-game.

Welcome to Storm Warning!
Meet Storm Warning, War Thunder’s last major update of 2024.
Storm Warning brings with it the highly anticipated Eurofighter Typhoon joining the ranks of Germany, Great Britain and Italy in three different variants, plus the Rafale for France! Following this is a line of Thai aircraft for Japan, reinforcing the ranks in this nation with capable fighter and attacker capability. Next up is the M44 for six nations, providing them with fun 155 mm howitzer firepower. In addition to this is the excellent PzH 2000 for Germany and Italy, and several battleships and destroyers for some nations, including the Archangelsk, a Royal Navy ship in service with the Soviet Union. Rounding out the update is Attica, a stunning new location for Ground Battles.

🚀HQ17: Rockets in the Night Sky

The HQ17 SAM vehicle has arrived at the end of the Chinese ground forces research tree in a group with the Tor-M1.

Today we’d like to talk about the HQ17, added to the Chinese ground forces tree this week in the Storm Warning major update, in a group with the Tor-M1. Despite the external similarities, the HQ17, which was developed entirely in China offers several improvements. Let’s take a look!

Ground Vehicles

▪️M44 — a bug where it was possible to fire the anti-aircraft machine gun when the machine gunner lost consciousness has been fixed. The crew transfer order has been corrected.
▪️Flak Sfl. / M44 and Ostwind / Wirbelwind — icons for the groups have been fixed.

Aircraft
▪️Rafale, EF-2000, Typhoon FGR.4, F-2000A — additional camouflages have been added. They are available by completing missions and/or can be purchased with Golden Eagles.

Locations
▪️Attica — collision on some buildings has been fixed.

Interface
▪️A bug where the list of vehicles for the “Favorite vehicles” profile showcase displayed vehicles that were not on the account has been fixed.

❄️The Snow Globe for Silver Lions!

A snow globe is a traditional holiday decoration and a great gift during the winter season. You can now treat yourself to one in War Thunder — only this one will bring you magical rewards when you open it!

🏪The Snow Globe can be purchased in the in-game Item Shop for Silver Lions from December 18th (11:00 GMT) until January 14th (11:00 GMT). It can only be purchased by players who have at least one researchable vehicle at rank II or higher on their account.

What’s in the Snow Globe?
The Snow Globe will reward you with vehicles, camouflages, decals, decorations and player profile icons from previous winter events, plus useful consumables, including boosters, universal backups, wagers and orders. Some items are here for the first time as coupons, meaning you’ll be able to sell them on the Market!

The Snow Globe can be purchased for 60,000 Silver Lions.

❗️On January 14th (12:00 GMT), all Snow Globes will disappear from your inventory, so make sure open them before then!

‼️Fair Play: December 2024

We’re constantly working on removing cheaters from War Thunder. We rely on anti-cheat systems to check for prohibited software usage, as well as on reports from players that we carefully go through. You can use the replay service on our website to report players to us who have violated the Terms of Service and the License Agreement of the game.

🤕Banned accounts
Since our last fair play, we’ve blocked 7,106 accounts that were found to have violated the rules. Specifically 3.2.3 of the EULA namely in the automation of gameplay (using bots) and cheat software.

📜For complete transparency, we’re publishing the full list of these blocked players. This list will be available for two weeks after the publication of this article.

⭐️Recommendations
We recommend that you set a strong password for your account and enable two-step authentication in your profile security settings. We have the following 2FA options available: email, SMS, TOTP (Gaijin Pass/Google Authenticator), and Telegram bot, which we suggest trying if SMS 2FA messages are not reaching you.

We’d also suggest that you turn on 2FA for the email that is linked to your account for additional security. This will protect your account from fraudsters. And remember, don’t use forbidden client modifications and never share your account information with anyone!

📜Pages of History (January): Defender of Leningrad

In this month’s Pages of History, you’ll be at the center of events that took place in different theaters of war. Iran and Saudi Arabia, the Philippines and East Prussia: take part in battles with the vehicles corresponding to these historic battles and receive prizes.

🏪From January 1st until January 31st, you’ll be offered 8 tasks consecutively. Completing each will reward you with a trophy, and completing all of them will earn you a unique player icon.

👨🏻‍🦰Vasily Antonovich Matsievich
was an ace pilot who fought in World War II from 1941. The fighter squadron he commanded defended besieged Leningrad from enemy raids and carried out assault raids on Wehrmacht positions. Soon after the siege of Leningrad was lifted, Matsievich was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union for his courage.

You can immediately purchase this profile icon for Golden Eagles until February 3rd, 11:30 GMT without completing tasks. To find it, go to your Nickname → Achievements → Pages of History.

Completing each individual task will give you a trophy with one of the following rewards:

💅40 New User-Created Camouflages in the “Storm Warning” Trophy!

To commemorate the release of the Storm Warning major update, we’re presenting a trophy that includes 40 camouflages from 38 authors from WT.Live! You’ll find 19 camouflages for ground vehicles, 18 for aircraft, 1 for naval and 2 for helicopters for most ranks and nations.

This trophy contains mostly historical camouflages, and there are lots of camouflages for top rank vehicles. Out of all nations, France is especially well represented this time. In addition to camouflages, you can get a unique decal and rare vehicles — and all this is in the form of coupons!
