A Decal for the Anniversary of the Victory Over Japan

In early August 1945, Japan agreed to the Allied terms for ending the war as outlined in the Potsdam Declaration. On September 2nd 1945, aboard the USS Missouri battleship, the Japanese Foreign Minster and Chief of General Staff signed the Instrument of Surrender, formally ending World War II after six long years.

Get the “V-J Day 2024” decal
Available for this anniversary.

When: From today until September 5th (09:00 GMT).
Task: Play 3 battles using US vehicles at rank III or higher to receive the “V-J Day 2024” decal.

Additional details:
-You must use a minimum of rank III.
-Your activity must not be below 70%.
-You can complete the task in random battles, except for Enduring Confrontation missions, and [Assault] mode.
-Track your progress in the hangar by clicking Nickname → Achievements → Holidays → Victory Over Japan.

More Details On Eastern Europe Missions

On the current Dance of Dragons dev server, we’re showcasing the updated “[Domination] Eastern Europe” mission with destroyed bridges, planned for low-tier battles. The destroyed bridges on this location are meant to close the road to positions on the side of the river that has no capture points, which among other things will also mean you won’t be able to shoot at spawn points from those positions.

Alongside this, we’ve added the new “[Domination #2] Eastern Europe” mission to replace the old one. It has bridges intact, one capture point has been moved to the other side of the river, positions of the others have been moved, and additional spawn points have been added to the northern side of the river. This mission is planned for mid and high-tier battles and is already on the dev server right now. You can share your feedback on it in this forum topic.

The Battle Rating threshold where the second mission replaces the first mission is planned to be at approximately 4.0, which may be changed after testing. Vehicles at the threshold Battle Rating can get both versions of the map.

We’re also aware of a bug in Simulator missions where the bridges are destroyed, meaning paths to capture points go around the bridges and deep parts of the river.

Testing our Proposed APHE Shell Changes on the Dev Server!

Hey everyone! A significant number of voters expressed interest in testing the fragmentation damage that we discussed in our recent post here 11 — thanks everyone for voting!

Today, we’re inviting you to test these changes on the Dance of Dragons dev server. You can access this test through the in-game Events & Tournaments section under “Testing of APHE Shell damage changes”. Note: For now, this is only on the dev server.

Event Features

-Added fragmentation areas. After this test event and subsequent testing on the main server, we’ll hold another vote on introducing the proposed fragmentation area parameters for APHE shells to the main game server.
-After the shell explodes, its warhead remains intact provided that the mass of the explosive is less than 1.34% of the mass of the shell. The residual armor penetration of the warhead after the explosion depends on the ratio of the mass of the shell to the mass of the explosive.
-Changed secondary fragments of APHE shells. They now are strengthened to the level of fragments from AP shells.
The “Testing shells new parameters” option has been added to the Protection Analysis. This allows you to visually compare changes in the damage of APHE shells.

Important information

We’d like to note that we’ll do additional testing on the main game server after the release of the Dance of Dragons major update.

It’s also important to note that the planned changes to secondary fragments (point 3 mentioned above) and the preservation of the warhead of APHE shells (point 2 mentioned above) will be introduced after the release of the Dance of Dragons major update with no vote for them. The parameters of segmented fragmentation areas (point 1 mentioned above) may be introduced based on the results of a new vote that we’ll be telling you about in the future.

-A bug that caused the button for launching a UAV to change to the button for deploying a UGV activation, causing a tank to spawn has been fixed.
-A bug that caused shells replenished on a capture point to be damaged if they were lost in an ammo rack fire has been fixed.
-A synchronization bug that caused the destroyed reactive armor to appear functional for the player who has spawned in after the destruction of said armor has been fixed.

🎯 Following the Roadmap: Customizable Tank Reticles!

Our 2024 Roadmap included several interface improvements, and one of them was new reticles for modern tanks with improved elements of the tank’s gun sight systems. Today, we’re pleased to present it to you, not just in an updated form, but in a deeply customized form as well. This new feature will come to the game in the Dance of Dragons major update — let’s take a look!

A new option called “Sight settings” has been added to the Ground vehicle Battle Settings. When clicking on this button, you can create your own configuration of interface elements displayed in the gunner’s sight. Configurations that you create can be saved to individual vehicles or to every vehicle at a selected rank of a specific nation at once so that you don’t have to create a sight for each vehicle one by one. Plus, you can also use any sight on any vehicle in the game (yes, that means you can use the modern US sight on a T-34 if you want!).

The following elements can be customized:
▪️Grid sight. You can either select it from the grids already available in the game, or install a custom sight downloaded to the /UserSights/ folder located in the game directory
▪️Rangefinder indicator
▪️Turret rotation indicator
▪️Sight field of view indicator at maximum zoom
▪️Shot readiness indicator (shows readiness status and reload time)
Interface elements that do not affect aiming can be easily and conveniently dragged around the screen with your mouse cursor. Each element can be viewed in different modes: day, night, with a night vision device or with a thermal imager.

This is just the first version of the customizable aiming sights that will be coming to the game in the Dance of Dragons major update. New elements and additional settings may be added in the future.
