narrated ’abdur-Rahman bin [Sa'eed bin] Wahb - that is Al-Hamdani:
that 'Aishah the wife of the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "I asked about the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) about this Ayah: And those who give that which they give with their hearts full of fear... (23:60)" 'Aishah said: "Are they those who drink Khamr and steal?" He said: "No, O daughter of As-Siddiq. They are those who fast, perform Salat, give charity while they fear that their Lord will not accept it from them: It is these who hasten to do good deeds, and they are the foremost of them (23:61)." #الإكسير_٦

القَلبُ في سَيرِهِ إلى الله عَزَّ وجَلَّ بِمَنْزِلة الطَّائر؛ فَالمَحَبّة رَأْسُهُ والخَوفُ والرَّجَاءُ جَنَاحَاه، فَمَتَى سَلِمَ الرَّأسُ والجَنَاحَانْ فَالطَّيرُ جَيد الطَّيرَانْ، ومَتَى قُطِعَ الرَّأس مَاتَ الطَّائر، ومَتَى فَقَد الجَنَاحَانْ فَهو عُرضَة لِكُلِّ صَائِد وكَاسِر..ولكِنَّ السَّلَفْ استَحَبُّوا أنْ يَقوى في الصّحة جَنَاحُ الخَوفْ على جَنَاح الرَّجَاء، وعِنْدَ الخُرُوجْ مِنَ الدُّنيا يَقوى جَنَاحُ الرَّجَاء على جَنَاح الخَوف".

and the Prophet ﷺ used to pass by the young boys and greet them.. and he would be in his house at the service of his family… and he would mend his shoes, patch his clothes, and milk the sheep for his family. he ﷺ would feed the camel, eat with the servant, and sit with the poor. he ﷺ would go on walks with the widows and the orphans and tend to their needs. he ﷺ would greet those who met him with greetings, and answer the invitation of those who invited him or called out to him, even if it was for the smallest thing.

بين القلبِ وبين الرَّبِّ مسافةٌ، وعليها قُطَّاعٌ تمنع وصولَ العملِ إِليه من كِبرٍ وإِعجابٍ وإِدلالٍ، ورؤيةِ العمل، ونسيانِ المنَّةِ، وعِلَلٍ خفيَّة لو استقصى في طلبِها لرأَى العجبَ؛ ومن رحمةِ الله تعالى سَترها على أَكثرِ العُمَّالِ، إِذ لو رأَوْها وعاينوها لوقعوا فيما هو أَشدُّ منها، من اليَأْسِ والقنوطِ والاستحسار، وتركِ العملِ، وخمودِ العزمِ، وفتورِ الهمَّةِ.

“ in the midst of such immorality in Mecca, Muhammed ﷺ did not escape to a person or people. He did not escape to something which would simply numb his disturbance, confusion or pain. He escaped to solitude, to silence, to nature, to creation, contemplation and prayer. It was here that he found solace in reflection. It was here that Allah turned to him and gifted him with Divine revelation.

it is here, during moments of reflection, that you too will be gifted with lessons, growth and a closeness to your Lord. “

خلاصة الوصية في رمضان:
‏"الزم كتاب الله وأكثر من تلاوته وتابع الختمةبعد الختمة، واحفظ الثواني قبل الدقائق فأوقات رمضان أغلى من الذهب، ونافس في ميادين الطاعات، فهذه الجنة قد فُتِحت أبوابها لك! واحذر لصوص رمضان من جوال ومسلسل ومواقع تواصل وكلام لا فائدة فيه، فهي أيامًا معدودات".

"I would like to remind myself and my brothers of our condition during the last Ramadan when we had prepared for its coming, but then when the month actually arrived we were active in it for a short time and then laziness began to take over.

So our recitation lessened and our night prayers became shorter, and maybe we even went through the whole month without completing the Qur'an a single time or without standing in pray for a single whole night, with the only full night that we spent awake being the night before 'Eid.

So we regretted that and maybe even wept because of that. So let us take all of this as a lesson for this upcoming month."

Ramadan Mubarak to you all 💌

we ask Allah to make this Ramadan a month of forgiveness for all of our deeds, a month of self-betterment, and nearness to Him. we ask Allah to make us from those who observe Ramadan with sincerity and hoping for reward from Him in this life and the next.

how many witnessed last Ramadan with us and yet could not reach this month with us, a matter of months/weeks/ and days before, and here we are, observing the first night. All praise and thanks is to The Most High. always remember them in your duā and all those who are not with us anymore.

this month is a month to be joyful, a month to strive in and to be grateful for as well. May Allah accept it from us and make us make use of every day that passes.

simple principles to live by in the month of Ramadan (translated from sh. Abdulaziz ash-shitri)

- renew your repentance, no matter how many times you fall short
- train your heart in always fleeing and turning to Allah: with tawakkul, humility, and seeking His aid
- safeguard the obligatory prayers and the night prayers
- better your relationship with the Quran, and do not let your daily portion be like your portion outside of Ramadan
- do not leave behind making dua, especially when breaking fast
- abandon watching haram

Ask them (O Muhammad!): 'Who is it that delivers you from dangers in the deep darknesses of the land and the sea, and to whom do you call in humility and in the secrecy of your hearts?
