Private firm Equalize hired hackers to break into an Italian government database. They then sold the data to private clients who allegedly used the information to secretly blackmail and intimate government officials.

They totalled 800,000 illegal intrusions. Equalize, a private offensive cyber contractor, hacked government systems and stole private data, including politicians like the President or the Prime Minister. They used trojans and insiders. The data was used to blackmail businesspeople and politicians.

The investigators were looking for Russian spies but discovered contacts between the suspects and the Secret Services of Italy, “Israel”, the US, and the UK – each without the others knowing.

Italy has been the playground of secret services and half the world.
