The martyr Dr. Fathi Ibrahim Al-Shaqaqi, Abu Ibrahim, the Secretary-General and founder of the Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine. He was born in 1951 in Al-Shati refugee camp in Gaza City. He received his primary and secondary education in the schools of the Gaza Strip. He studied mathematics at Birzeit University in the occupied West Bank. He worked as a teacher at the Orphan School in Al-Quds. In 1974, he enrolled in the Faculty of Medicine at Zagazig University in Egypt. He worked as a doctor at Al-Muttala' Hospital in Al-Quds and as a pediatrician in Gaza.

He was arrested in Egypt in 1979. He founded the Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine in the late 1970s, raising the slogan "Palestine is the central cause of the Arab and Islamic nation."

The zionist entity accused him of direct responsibility for several martyrdom operations, most notably the "Beit Lid" operation, in which 22 zionist soldiers were killed.
