⚽️ FIFA to Investigate Israeli Football Discrimination against Palestinians

FIFA has initiated an investigation into allegations raised by the Palestinian Football Association (PFA) regarding discrimination within Israeli football.

This follows the PFA's proposal to suspend Israel due to its complicity in violations of international law amid the ongoing war in Gaza.

The PFA claims the Israel Football Association (IFA) discriminates against Arab players and includes teams based in occupied Palestinian territories. As stated by the PFA, this investigation is a "positive step... towards addressing grave violations of FIFA's statutory objectives and human rights."

U.N.-appointed human rights experts have identified at least eight clubs operating in Israeli colonial settlements, highlighting that their integration into the IFA legitimizes Israel's unlawful presence in occupied Palestinian land, which is a direct violation of international law.

The PFA has reported at least 92 Palestinian players have been killed, with significant destruction to football infrastructure. They demand FIFA impose sanctions on Israeli teams to hold them accountable.
