π» Francis Boyle - American human rights lawyer who serves as counsel to Bosnia and Herzegovina and to the provisional government of the Palestinian Authority - states that with States (including US and UK governments) cutting off funding to UNRWA, it is "no longer the case of these States aiding and abetting Israeli Genocide against the Palestinians in violation of Genocide Convention article 3 (e) criminalizing 'complicity' in genocide.
These States are now also directly violating Genocide Convention article 2(c) by themselves: 'Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part...'"

π»Hebrew sources: National Alert!
It's good to prepare for a few days in the country, even a week, without electricity
Towards the possibility of war in the north: The National Emergency Authority instructed government ministries to prepare for the possibility of severe damage to infrastructure and a "national blackout" - when at least 60% of the population will be cut off from electricity for a period of 24 to 48 hours, in some areas this may also last for about 72 hours.

π»DC-UK || Pro-Palestine activists in Cyprus have condemned Britain for using their island as a launchpad to bomb Yemen.
In response to Rishi Sunak's second round of airstrikes on 22 Jan, United for Palestine (Cyprus) issued this statement:
"As United For Palestine, we are appalled by the UK's continued use of Cyprus as a launchpad for attacks against Yemen, one of the world's poorest and most starved countries.
"The British government's decision is part and parcel of its full support to Israel's genocidal attack on the Palestinian people and has nothing to do with protecting the 'freedom of the seas'.
"In addition, we condemn the government of the Republic of Cyprus for its evasive attitude towards the use of our island for the purposes of supporting a genocide.
"The Christodoulides government [of Cyprus] believes that pointing to the sovereign character of the bases absolves it of any responsibility.
"The 'sovereign base areas' which house the British bases used to resupply Israel and attack Yemen are anachronistic colonial remnants whose existence on our soil rests on shaky legal grounds.
"We demand these be dismantled as part of our vision for a fully decolonised, demilitarised, and non-aligned Cyprus, free of all foreign armies and communal militias."

π» Commissioner-general of UNRWA Philippe Lazzarini, commenting on decisions by western countries to halt funding:
Our humanitarian operation, on which 2 million people depend as a lifeline in Gaza, is collapsing.
I am shocked such decisions are taken based on alleged behavior of a few individuals and as the war continues, needs are deepening & famine looms.
Palestinians in Gaza did not need this additional collective punishment.
This stains all of us.
Lazzarini added that "UNRWA shares the list of all its staff with host countries every year, including Israel. The Agency never received any concerns on specific staff members."
