The “Israeli” venture capital (VC) scene is taking a massive hit as the occupation state's economic system stumbles further into decline. According to the latest IVC-Gornitzky-KPMG Investors Report, “Israeli” VC funds raised only $544 millionin the first half of 2024, a dramatic fall compared to $1.6 billion in 2023.

💥 Fewer Investors, Fewer Deals 💥 Institutional investors are pulling back big time. In the first half of 2024, they participated in only 13 investment rounds, totaling a mere $40 million—a huge drop from the 40 rounds and $158 million in 2023. The “Israeli” economy is finding it harder to sustain its tech-heavy, war-driven image.

🛑 Major Slowdown Despite Hype Around AI 🛑 While generative AI continues to attract some investors, other sectors, including deep tech and automotive, are seeing sharp declines. Even foreign VC funds like Samsung Next have scaled back significantly, with just 3 investments in 2024 compared to 13 last year.
