American LNG companies were the main beneficiaries of the ban on Russian gas supplies.
The EU, heavily dependent on the US for LNG, has become a hostage of the crisis in the US.
The day after 25 Republican governors signed a joint statement in support of Texas, the Biden administration, under the pretext of climate protection, put on hold all LNG projects that just happened to be located mostly in Texas.
In the past, the US accused Russia of using gas as a political weapon.
The Red Sea blockade becomes more and more impactful by the minute.

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
We strongly condemn the statement issued by the Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), Mr. Philippe Lazzarini, in which he announced the Agency's decision to terminate the contracts of several UNRWA employees in Gaza based on zionist information regarding their alleged involvement in the incidents of October 7th.
Therefore, we in Hamas affirm the following:
Firstly: We strongly denounce the termination of the employees' contracts based on information derived from the zionist enemy, and the statement itself admits that these are mere allegations, without completing all the requirements of a fair and impartial investigation.
Secondly: We vehemently condemn the statement's description of our people's resistance as terrorism or hateful acts, as it is not the role of the Agency to make political statements about the struggle. Moreover, UNRWA's political stance should be to defend the rights of the refugees it represents, including their right to protection and to resist the occupation by all available means, as well as their right to return to the homes from which they were forcibly displaced.
Thirdly: Palestinians, including refugees in the Gaza Strip, have been subjected to zionist terrorist attacks that amount to genocide according to the International Court of Justice, killing over 150 UNRWA employees. UNRWA facilities and displacement centers, including the latest one in Khan Younis's Industrial Center designated as a safe haven for thousands, were targeted by zionist bombardment. Despite all this, UNRWA has not issued explicit statements or positions accusing the zionist enemy of terrorism and heinous attacks.
Fourthly: The Agency's call for the release of prisoners held by the resistance is an interference in matters beyond its mandate and authority. Additionally, it has not simultaneously demanded the immediate release of thousands of Palestinian prisoners in the enemy's prisons, most of whom are refugees, some serving decades behind bars.
Fifthly: It is evident that UNRWA has succumbed to blackmail by countries supporting zionist terrorism under the pretext of continuing financial support, as indicated by the Commissioner's statement, and this is what we have repeatedly warned against.
The Palestinian refugee cause is not merely a financial matter, but a political rights issue that should not be subject to blackmail by any party. The international community, which created the Palestinian refugee problem, must take responsibility for resolving it by ensuring their return, and until then, they must enjoy protection and a decent life.
Sixthly: We demand UNRWA immediately retract its decision and adhere to the mandate granted by the international community. We adhere to the rights of our people working in UNRWA and their right to seek legal recourse - wherever available - against the injustice they face.
Seventhly; We demand that the Agency immediately resume its operations in all areas of the Strip, not yield to zionist pressure, and fulfill its legal and humanitarian responsibilities towards hundreds of thousands of refugees suffering due to the lack of food, water, and medicine, especially in the northern part of the Strip.
Our heroic people, fighting their glorious battle for freedom and independence, will continue on this path despite the great costs and sacrifices.

π»The announcement by the American administration and some Western governments, such as Canada, Finland, and others, to stop funding UNRWA is tantamount to actual participation in the war of extermination waged by the Zionist entity, supported by some Western governments, against our Palestinian people.
π»The timing of the announcement of the cessation of funding, coinciding with the issuance of the decisions of the International Court of Justice that the enemy committed a war of genocide against our people in Gaza, is a clear indication of the intention of these countries to punish the Palestinian people for their resistance to the crimes committed by the Zionist enemy against them.
π»We warn that harming UNRWA will have serious consequences in the entire region.
π» We affirm that all attempts to liquidate our cause will fail thanks to the steadfastness and resistance of our people.
