Here’s what’s going on with the ceasefire deadlock:

•Hamas doesn’t want to negotiate again and states it had already agreed to Biden’s proposal on July 2nd. If the US wants a deal, it should pressure Netanyahu to accept it.

• Netanyahu doesn’t want a deal because he would lose his majority in the government, which would be caused by Ben Gvir and Smotrich leaving his coalition government, as they have both stated they don’t want a deal.

•Settlers and secular Zionists want a deal, and military expert Zionists also support it because a prolonged war contradicts Israeli security strategy.

•The US administration wants a deal before the elections but doesn’t want Hamas to govern or have a chance to govern in the “next day.”

• Some Israeli officials in Hebrew media hinted at accepting a deal for a prisoner exchange to calm the Israeli street, then breaking the deal later.

- Arab regimes are shitting bricks and want this nightmare to end as soon as possible because it has exposed them to their people.
