On September 5th, Karim Khan told the BBC that several world leaders threatened him against pursuing arrest warrants for Netanyahu and Gallant.

At the same time, UK Lawyers for Israel (UKLFI) – the same group of UK laywers who unsuccessfully tried to have Dr Sitta’s medical license suspended – are trying to get Khan disbarred, as reported by the Telegraph.

Brian Whitaker, the former Middle East editor for the Guardian, investigated UKLFI.

Who are they?

UKLFI operates partly through a company (UKLFI Limited) and partly through a charity (UKLFI Charitable Trust). The limited company was founded by its current chief executive, barrister Jonathan Turner, in 2010  –  originally under the name Action 4 Peace. The charitable trust was established in 2016 to “facilitate fund raising” from UK donors for parts of UKLFI’s activities that are charitable under UK law. Natasha Hausdorff is the Legal Director of UKLFI’s charitable arm.

What do they do?

🔴UKLFI files complaints toward any entity expressing any pro-Palestinian sentiment. Notable hits: the British Medical Association, Apple, and FIFA. Usually, they falsely accuse them of breaking the Equality Act and demand the cancellation of their events. Notably, they complained about the display of kites, plates, and pictures of everyday life in Palestine (yes, you read it right).

🔴They side with the harder liners, such as Stand With Us, especially by interpreting the law as to reinforce the political positions of hardline elements. They also support the passage of an anti-BDS bill.

🔴They started a war against charities, as they regularly complaint to the Charity Commission (it is the charity regulator in the UK). Notable hits: Amnesty International UK, War on Want, Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) and Education Aid for Palestinians (EAP). The allegations range from “racism” to “connections to terrorism”. They also attacked student unions over their support for BDS. Their own charity, though, invited extreme Zionists like Naomi Khan from Regavim.
