Britain will immediately suspend 30 out of the 350 arms export licenses it holds with "Israel" due to a "clear risk" that such equipment could be used to "commit serious violations of international humanitarian law."

"This is not a blanket ban, this is not an arms embargo," Foreign Minister David Lammy told parliament. "We do not take this decision lightly."

Britain is among several longstanding allies of the Israeli occupation whose governments are facing increased pressure to stop weapons exports due to the impact of the 11-month-old genocide in Gaza, where over 40,000 Palestinians have been killed.

Carrefour Caught in a Web of Lies: Complicit in “Israel’s” War Crimes

Carrefour, the global supermarket giant, has been exposed for deceiving its stakeholders and the public.

Despite claiming in May 2024 that it had not opened stores in the occupied Palestinian territory (OPT), evidence shows Carrefour operates in the Modi'in-Maccabim-Re'ut settlement—a site classified as occupied territory by the UN and the EU. This is a blatant war crime under international law.

Following the International Court of Justice's historic ruling in July 2024, which found “Israel” guilty of apartheid and illegal occupation, Carrefour's actions are not just morally wrong—they are legally indefensible.

Carrefour’s CEO had previously claimed the company’s political "neutrality," but this is nothing more than a facade. Carrefour's “Israeli” partner openly boasts about selling products across all of “Israel”, including in illegal settlements.

BDS movement is calling for increased pressure, demanding Carrefour end its complicity in “Israeli” war crimes and cease all sales of products from illegal settlements.
