The lawyer of the Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs' Commission was finally able to visit Mohammed Al-Aridah, one of the six Palestinians of the Freedom Tunnel, for the first time in over six months.
Al-Aridah was arrested on September 11, 2021, shortly after his dramatic escape from the highly fortified Gilboa Prison, one of Israel's most secure facilities.
This was not his first arrest; Mohammed Al-Aridah has spent over two decades in Israeli prisons, enduring relentless persecution from the so-called justice system of Israel. He is currently serving multiple life sentences for his resistance against the Israeli occupation.

During the visit, Mohammed Al-Aridah revealed the brutal conditions he and his fellow Palestinian prisoners face. He was isolated for 15 days and has been continuously transferred between several prisons, a tactic used to disorient and punish prisoners. "The inspection policy is still ongoing, in addition to the psychological pressures and provocations practiced against us," Al-Aridah disclosed. "We suffer from a severe shortage of clothing. The food is very poor in terms of quantity and quality. I have lost about 20 kg of my weight, and all the prisoners have lost a lot of weight from their bodies, and their bodies have become thin and sick."
