On 10/7/2024, Turkiye witnessed a historic development when its parliament agreed to discuss a bill proposed by the Kurdish Islamic party, Huda Par (Free Cause Party).

The law targets a segment of the Jewish lobby that supports “Israel” and its crimes in Gaza and aims to revoke the citizenship of Turkish dual nationals who participated in the genocide against Gaza within the ranks of the IOF.

If passed, it would allow Turkish courts to prosecute crimes committed by foreigners against foreigners in a foreign country, provided that the perpetrator is found within Turkiye.

The law also includes provisions for asset confiscation, revocation of citizenship, and life imprisonment.

The Turkish Jewish lobby has long played various political and economic roles and has clashed with the Justice and Development Party government led by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

On 27/6/2024, the local newspaper Turkiye reported that approximately 4,000 Jews from Turkiye are fighting in Gaza.

The newspaper recalled the history of Jewish migration from Turkiye to the Zionist entity during various periods following the declaration of the Israeli Occupation state.

Turkiye the newspaper estimated that the Turkish Jewish community in “Israel” numbers around 250,000.

The report mentioned that many Israeli army officers are of Turkish Jewish origin, including, for example, the commander of the Iron Dome system.

It pointed out that a significant number of Turkish Jews live in their own neighborhoods, resembling ghettos, particularly in the Bat Yam district of Tel Aviv.


Revocation of Citizenship

Serkan Ramanli, a deputy from the Huda Par party, spoke to the Turkish magazine Tasnim, stating that "the Citizenship Law of 2023 serves Zionist interests."

He called for its amendment to allow for the

prosecution of Zionist gang leaders in Turkiye who commit crimes against humanity in Gaza.

It has been nine months, and the Turkish Minister of Justice has not made such a request to the prosecutor general.

What is the minister waiting for to ask the prosecutor general to open an investigation?

Ramanli pointed out that the request for an investigation is not limited to the Minister of Justice but can also be initiated by the parliament, stating,

We want to revoke the citizenship of any Turkish national who has committed crimes against humanity on Palestinian soil.

However, the Turkish Jewish lobby issue is complex, with multiple interrelated problems. This was highlighted by the Turkish newspaper Serbestiyet on 9/7/2024, which published a detailed report on the activities of Turkish Jews in Northern Cyprus (recognized as an independent republic by Turkiye).

The report said that they are "buying large areas of land and establishing Jewish settlements under the guise of tourism."

It commented on this activity, along with their involvement in fighting under the Israeli Occupation army, by urging the Turkish government to take urgent action against those who have gone to “Israel” and contributed to the unprecedented genocide against Palestinians.


Gezi Park

Another aspect involves intense clashes between the Jewish lobby and the Justice and Development Party.

On 2/7/2013, then-Deputy PM Besir Atalay made explicit accusations against the Jewish lobby for organizing protests against the government.

He told the Turkish newspaper Hurriyet that the incidents in Istanbul's Gezi Park, which lasted for three weeks, were orchestrated by what is known as the Jewish diaspora.

Atalay accused the lobby of collaborating with foreign media and external forces to destabilize Turkiye.


Targeting Economy

The Jewish lobby in Turkiye has been a notable factor in the country’s economic crisis, which has persisted for years. Some Israeli academics have even threatened to destroy Turkiye’s economy through this group.

On 18/5/2018, Israeli analyst Edy Cohen threatened the Turkish economy and pointed to the influence of the Jewish lobby in comments about the fluctuations in the Turkish lira’s exchange rate against the dollar.

Cohen, also a faculty member at Bar-Ilan University, posted a tweet in Arabic targeting Turkish President Erdogan, stating: "You’re losing, Erdogan."

He linked this to an incident where Israeli Ambassador to Turkiye Eitan Na’eh was insulted at Istanbul airport while returning to “Israel,” and said, "After that, the Turkish lira plummeted to its lowest level in Turkiye’s history."

Cohen, who also serves as an advisor to “Israel”, addressed Erdogan, saying, "Don’t you know that half of the world’s wealth belongs to just one Jewish family, which is Israel’s primary supporter, not to mention the many other wealthy Jews?"

In conclusion, Cohen warned that the upcoming economic conditions would be even worse, referring to the lira’s exchange rate. On 18/7/2024, the dollar had reached approximately 33 liras.

The complex dynamics and conflicts between the Turkish government and the Jewish lobby have not escaped the attention of the Gulen movement (Fethullah Gulen), classified as a terrorist group by Ankara.

On 11/2/2015 (before the coup attempt), President Erdogan accused the "parallel structure" seeking to overthrow him of collaborating with the Jewish lobby in Turkiye and the Israeli Mossad.

Then-PM Ahmet Davutoğlu declared that Ankara would not succumb to the Jewish lobby or other parties working against the government.
