For those who understand Arabic, they've surely come across a few expressions used by the Palestinian resistance without knowing they're prophecies by the prophet PBUH. I'll be writing about these every now and then. We'll start with the following:

"The best of sentinel is the sentinel of Asqalan"

It was reported by Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both, that the prophet, peace be upon him, said:
"The beginning of this matter is prophecy and mercy, then it will be caliphate and mercy, then it will be monarchy and mercy, then it will be princedom and mercy. Then, they will bite each other over the matter like donkeys. Therefore, you must strive in jihad, and the best of your jihad is guarding the frontiers, and the best place for guarding the frontiers is Ascalon."

The cities of Gaza and Ascalon are located in southern Palestine. Gaza is situated southwest of Ascalon. From the Islamic conquest until the Crusader invasion, Gaza was administratively linked to Ascalon and was known as 'Gaza of Ascalon.' The distance between the two is four parasangs (approximately 21 km). Due to this administrative connection , scholars have mentioned that Imam Al-Shafi'i, may Allah have mercy on him, was born in Gaza, although some say he was born in Ascalon.

At this era where "Jihad" has been turned into a political game to serve the empire's agenda, many Muslims have become wary of the calls to "resist the oppressors" .
This Hadith is a confirmation of the righteous struggle of Palestinians against the Western Zionist occupation and a clear sign to Muslims that it is a real Jihad.
