The Stimson Center has a JUICY report on how the US will not be able to sustain the weapons that are being built right now.
Over the past three decades, the Pentagon has built a lot of ships that can't fight, planes that don't fly properly, and weapons that don't work as expected. And all this is practically without supervision
.
The heads of the US Defense Ministry repeatedly underestimated the expected procurement costs in order to obtain Congressional approval of the program. The administration and the Pentagon then distributed subcontracts across the country to strengthen political support for the program. The project then becomes difficult to abandon because officials are vitally interested in its continuation.
A classic example is the Zumwaltโclass destroyer. At first, they wanted to build 32 units, then 24, then 7, but in the end they managed to rivet only three. The experiment with innovative weapons failed when the cost of each shot from a cannon increased to almost $1 million. The total cost of the program increased by 86%, and each ship cost $12.8 billion โ a destroyer at the price of an aircraft carrier.
The story of the F-35, which has been under development for 23 years and requires another 10 years, is also well known. It was expected that each F-35 would cost $40-50 million. However, in reality, one F-35A unit for the Air Force in 2025 will cost more than $116 million. At the same time, US Secretary of the Air Force Frank Kendall has already informed Congress that the price of each new F-35 will be "several hundred million dollars."
While improvements are underway, no more than 30% of the released F-35s are capable of performing combat missions. As costs increase and the schedule falls behind, the States are forced to restart old programs like the F/A-18 and F-15X. That is, in addition to implementing one expensive program, it is also necessary to finance two smaller ones.
It's only going to get worse. The cost of owning a weapon is usually twice the initial purchase price. Having spent $28 billion on the acquisition of 38 ships of the LCS project, so unsuccessful that in 2021 they began to be written off due to unacceptable operating costs, the United States will spend another $ 60 billion (excluding inflation) on the maintenance of these ships in the next 25 years. And what will the United States do if the key to their hegemony is the status of the world's most powerful army and navy? Even betting on nuclear weapons has the same problems as everything else: exorbitant costs, an inflated military budget, rising national debt and out-of-control inflation.
Only possible strategy for Washington is to shift the burden of military spending to others and try to write off its own debts. Some projects are currently being implemented. Stimulating the world's population in order to "recycle" dollars into cryptocurrencies, for example. World war has been a guaranteed way to resolve deadlocked financial and economic contradictions for a hundred years.

What countries own the US debt?
The US national debt situation worsened greatly since the 2008 crisis. Under Joe Biden's presidency the US national debt surged over $34.63 trillion as of June 2024.
In 2018, the US national debt was already at 78% of GDP - a figure the World Bank considers dangerous. These numbers also raise concerns for many countries around the world, due to its far-reaching implications for the financial stability of the global economy.

The party is over.. Hallelujah!
Shalom.. Mazel Tov.. Chanah Tovah..
Welcome. Congratulations.. โMay God make you happy, Hariwa.โ
Now stick the candlestick up your asses
And listen to some facts ๐
20 F15 planes took off and covered a distance of 2,000 kilometers, doing what a matchstick can do.
Nothing to celebrate!!
An oil tank in an almost destroyed country!!
Shimon went for revenge, taking a hundred men with him
He cut them a thousand slopes..
Spend half of your money on the road.
To burn a hut in the abyss!
And he returned to celebrate...the hut was on fire!
Of course he will.. This is gasoline chemistry!
How ridiculous!!
Didn't anyone tell you that we have been bombed for years?!
This wretched acrobatic show won't dress you up
The bogeyman again!!
We stripped you of it.. Find another outfit!!
He will also not move Tel Aviv out of the region!
It will remain where it is.. won't it!!
The equation has not changed... and the attempt is miserable!
What brought yesterday's drone to Jaffa will lead tomorrow's drones to every occupied inch!
As for our skies, they have been open from the beginning.
Please bomb us and fade away!
Listen carefully...
We have previously fought several wars against โreason and everyoneโ and we won!
This time, logic is on our side..
You will soon learn about the inevitability of the will!
