🚫After the Israeli withdrawal from the Tel Al-Hawa area this morning, the Gaza Civil Defense reported to Al Jazeera on unfolding heinous massacres:

At least 60 martyrs have been recovered from Tel Al-Hawa, most of them women and children.

Testimonies and footage depict Israeli occupation soldiers executing elderly civilians, including women, inside their homes in Tel Al-Hawa.

Israeli occupation forces prevented Civil Defense teams from reaching buildings where entire families were burned.

Civil Defense personnel found the bodies of families who were completely burned inside their homes in Tel Al-Hawa.

Many bodies remain under the rubble in areas bombed for a week in Tel Al-Hawa."

Middle East Eye:

The Labour Party is supporting the creation of a new Muslim leadership group intended to become the primary point of engagement between Keir Starmer’s government and Muslim communities in the UK.

A draft document setting out plans for the network seen by MEE describes its core objectives as including “to influence public policy in a way that safeguards and promotes the rights of British Muslims”, and “to influence the media debate around Muslims in Britain”.

The proposal document says:

The initial focus will be creating a credible group that engages with the government of the day and over time take on a wider remit of support for Muslim representation and leadership development.

The government and policymakers are not easily able to access, connect or seek credible and expert advice from diverse British Muslim communities. There is a dire need for a credible group which a range of institutions, both public and private, can easily access, trust and engage with.

The new network appears to pose a direct challenge to the claims to leadership of the Muslim Council of Britain (MCB), the largest body representing Muslim organisations in the UK.

Key figures involved in the new group, provisionally known as the Muslim Leadership Council, are understood to include Asim Hafiz, a former British Army imam; Julie Siddiqi, the former executive director of the Islamic Society of Britain; and Dilwar Hussain, the founder of the New Horizons in British Islam think tank.

One person, who said they had declined to be part of the new group, said these had been prompted by what was perceived as a “vacuum of leadership within the Muslim community” after the 7 October Hamas-led attacks in southern Israel and the start of the war in Gaza.

Another person told MEE: “The first few meetings had a broad section of the community and met after the start of the war as the community realised Labour was losing support in Muslim communities.”

🔴Gaza Genocide Day 269

Of the unspoken realities of forced displacement is the way the displaced cling to everything they brought with them from home.

They continue to wear the same now-tattered shirt they fled in, meticulously care for the only bag they managed to grab, and persist in using the same shoes, the same socks, the same glasses.. items that become lifelines to a home that feels increasingly distant.

A week ago, I thought I had lost my sunglasses, a pair I bought in Gaza City a couple of years ago.

As I walked down the street, absent-minded and weeping silently, I promised myself I wouldn't buy another pair from my area of refuge.

The loss felt like a piece of my identity slipping away, a scent of my home fading. My heart ached physically.

In a final act of hope, I called my family in the shelter, asking them to look for the sunglasses. "Yes, we found them," felt as monumental as the news that we’d be allowed to return home.

Over time, these attachments take on even stranger dimensions.

For the past nine months, I’ve refused to trim the tips of my hair as I used to do regularly back home.

I hadn’t really considered why until today. I realized I didn’t want to cut my "home hair" and let the "shelter hair" grow in its place.

🎚Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor:

➡️The Israeli occupation army committed horrific massacres during its incursion into western Gaza City, including murders, burning homes, and destroying health institutions:

➡️The 4-day incursion into the western parts of Gaza City included extensive destruction and burning of homes and civilian buildings, and the forced displacement of families as part of the crime of genocide.

➡️Israeli forces launched dozens of fire belts and severe and indiscriminate bombardment, in addition to storming homes and abusing civilians, amid reports of the martyrdom of more than 60 people, whose bodies were found in the streets and alleys.

➡️We received preliminary information about the occupation army killing a group of civilians, some of them entire families, who were present in the industrial area, west of Gaza, after raiding their homes.

➡️We documented the occupation army’s torture of a civilian (58 years old), and severely beating him while he was besieged for about 12 hours with a number of his relatives in his house.

➡️The occupation army re-destroyed the “Friends of the Patient” Hospital for the second time, after it was restored about a month ago to provide health services to the people of Gaza.

➡️The occupation army also bombed the “Al-Salam” clinic, which is the only health center in the Al-Sabra neighborhood, south of Gaza City.

➡️The occupation army caused widespread destruction in UNRWA schools in the vicinity of the industrial area, and destroyed everything related to school furniture there.

➡️We received testimonies regarding the occupation forces carrying out extensive robberies and thefts from people and their homes, including valuables and money, when storming them and forcibly displacing their residents, or when burning and destroying them.

➡️The occupation forces collected the personal belongings of several families in bags and stole them, including beating them and arresting the males before expelling the women and children to force them to move.

➡️We call for a comprehensive and impartial international investigation into the serious crimes and violations against civilians in the Gaza Strip and their property by the Israeli occupation forces, which constitute war crimes and crimes against humanity that are fully-fledged and self-contained.
