⭕ The Episcopal Church in Jerusalem and the Middle East (responsible for managing the Al-Ahly Arab Anglican Hospital in Gaza City):

We were forced to close the hospital by order of the occupation forces amid the escalation of military activities in the vicinity of our headquarters.

- On Sunday, July 7, between 6pm and 7pm, heavy drone shooting occurred near the hospital.

- After that, the “occupation forces” announced that the area had become a red zone and all buildings must be evacuated immediately, including the hospital.

As a result, all patients, staff and people who were taking shelter in the hospital were forced to leave the place, putting the lives of the injured and sick at risk.

- One of the hospital's ambulances was shot at while on its way to it, and there is no information about the condition of the driver or the patients who were on the way for treatment.

The hospital is now out of service at a time when its services are most needed.

Hossam Naoum, Anglican Archbishop of the Diocese of Jerusalem:

“We strongly protest the closure of our hospital in times of war and suffering. It is necessary to maintain emergency healthcare services to treat the injured and sick.”

“We appeal to the occupation forces to allow us to continue our sacred work of providing medical care, and we demand an end to the targeting of civilians and all vulnerable people and we call for an immediate ceasefire.”
