❗️Islamic leaders in Karachaevo-Cherkessia, a Muslim-majority region in southern Russia, have banned the niqab due to what they state are security and sectarian tolerance concerns.

This decision by the Spiritual Muslim Board follows a similar ban in Dagestan, another Russian region in the Caucasus.

The niqab, covering the body and face except for the eyes, has been labelled as "harmful to social harmony."

The ban has been labelled temporary until "threats are reassessed. "

Russian authorities have associated the niqab with Wahhabism, linked to strict Islamic practices and some jihadist groups.

The recent push against the niqab in Dagestan followed a terrorist attack that killed 20 people.

It is reported that the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) withdrew from the Hashash family home after besieging it for five hours and bombarding it with over 20 incendiary shells in Al-Saada forest in Jenin.

The Palestinian Red Crescent has confirmed that four martyrs ascended following an IOF drone strike in Jenin camp. Additionally, one martyr, Mohammed Jabareen, and his injured son, Salah Jabareen, were reported in Al-Saada forest due to sniper fire from the occupation forces.

In the midst of this tragedy, Riyad Sleit and his three sons, Mustafa, Ayham, and Adham Sleit, were detained by the occupation forces after they raided their home near the besieged residence.
