The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reported on July 3 that between October 7 and July 1, 539 Palestinians, including 131 children were killed in the West Bank including East al-Quds.

522 of these Palestinians were killed by Israeli occupation forces, 10 were killed by Israeli settlers, and seven were killed where it remains unknown whether the perpetrators were Israeli occupation troops or settlers.

OCHA added that, during the same interval, more than 5,420 Palestinians have been injured, including about 830 children.

There have been 28 incidents of airstrikes in the West Bank, just two of which were last week, the organization said.

In these incidents, 77 Palestinians were killed, 14 of whom were children.

This comes after Gallant's recent visit to the US, during which he laid out a comprehensive plan for the so-called "postwar transition in Gaza."

His plan included establishing a steering committee led by the United States and what he described as "moderate Arab partners" would supervise the transition. Moreover, security would be overseen by an international force that might include troops from Egypt, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, and Morocco. US troops would provide logistics and command and control from outside of Gaza, most likely from Egypt.

Eventually, local security would be handled by a Palestinian force. Both US officials and Gallant agreed that this Palestinian security force "should probably be trained under an existing security assistance program for the Palestinian Authority, headed by Lt. Gen. Michael Fenzel," a security coordinator for both "Israel" and the Authority based in occupied al-Quds.
